2A for Today | Trump Must Appoint a Pro-2A Attorney General
At the start of President Donald Trump’s second term, law-abiding firearm owners had every reason to expect swift restoration of their God-given, constitutionally protected right to keep and bear arms. During the 2024 presidential campaign, Trump campaigned explicitly on ending former President Joe Biden’s firearm restrictions.
Trump promised that “no one will lay a finger on your firearms” if he were reelected, and that “every single Biden attack on gun owners and manufacturers will be terminated on my very first week back in office, perhaps my first day.”
Former Attorney General Pam Bondi failed miserably to deliver on these promises, and actively worked to maintain the Biden-era restrictions. Under Bondi, the Department of Justice (DOJ) continued to enforce two of the most egregious rules, the pistol-brace ban and a “universal background check” rule on private sales.
