Fabian Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing

Joe Wolverton, II, J.D.

AT A GLANCE

• The Fabian Society was founded in England in 1884 for the purpose of bringing about socialism.

• Its original emblem was a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

• Its strategy is to accomplish gradually and secretly what could not be done instantly and openly.

• Fabians today include Prime Minister Keir Starmer and London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

The most effective revolutions are the ones no one recognizes as revolutions. They do not erupt in violence or declare themselves in manifestos. They do not demand immediate submission or provoke immediate resistance. Instead, they proceed quietly through committees, universities, commissions, and the slow redefinition of language itself. They advance under the guise of expertise, benevolence, and inevitability. They do not confront the people; they condition them.

By the time the public realizes what has been taken, the habits of resistance have atrophied, and the mechanisms of recovery have been carefully dismantled. This is not speculation. It is strategy. It is the strategy of the Fabian Society, and it has succeeded beyond the expectations of even its most patient architects.
