Like fellow “Squad” member Ilhan Omar, Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) can’t stay out of trouble.
The latest from the angry Muslim terror apologist was a tweet that pinned a shooting rampage in New Jersey on “white supremacists” long after the black culprits were identified, and long after news reports connected one to the Black Hebrew Israelites.
BHI is the group of crackpots who were unknown until they started trouble with white high-school boys at the Lincoln Memorial at last year’s March for Life.
And so Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 13th congressional district, was forced to delete the lie.
The Crime and the Tweet
“This is heartbreaking” Tlaib wrote of the murders committed by 47-year-old David N. Anderson and 50-year-old Francine Graham on Tuesday.
New Jersey cop Joey Seals stopped the pair at a cemetery in a stolen van that Seals believed might contain illegal guns. They shot and killed Seals, then drove to a kosher Jewish deli and opened fire there. That unprovoked attack left three Jews dead.
The two marauders died in a gunfight with cops.
From all that, the bilious leftist, whose connection to anti-Israel Islamic extremists suggest she doesn’t much care for Jews, concluded that “white supremacism” was afoot.
“White supremacy kills,” she tweeted this morning at 6:50 a.m.
Except that in this case it didn’t.
Yesterday, long before Tlaib’s irresponsible tweet, the New York Times connected Anderson to the black supremacist, anti-Semitic Black Hebrew Israelites.
“Anderson appeared to have a connection to the Black Hebrew Israelite movement, though the extent of his involvement in that group remains unclear,” the Times reported, citing a law-enforcement official.
Even the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center calls BHI a hate group.
Members of BHI, who consider themselves directly descended from the 12 tribes of Israel, were completely unknown until last year’s confrontation with Catholic white boys from Covington, Kentucky.
That shouting match, which also involved a “Native American elder” and fake war hero shown to be a liar and petty criminal, became national news. The leftist media smeared the boys as racists. One, Nicholas Sandmann, filed defamation lawsuits against CNN, the Washington Post, and other media outlets.
Tlaib’s Connections
And so Tlaib quickly pushed “delete.”
Wrote one user, “Rep. Tlaib blames white supremacy for an attack that was carried out by *checks notes* someone who once belonged to a black supremacist group.”
“The Black Hebrew Israelites perpetrated the anti-Semitic attack in Jersey City this week. @RashidaTlaib is literally whitewashing it right now,” another wrote.
Wrote a third, “It’s telling, and frankly sick, that Tlaib tweeted out sympathies for the Jews that were murdered blaming it on white supremacists. Didn’t care enough to find out what happened. Just enough to use dead Jews for her political agenda.”
Tlaib’s tweet was likely cover for what pro-Israel groups would call the Muslim congressowman’s profound sympathies for Islamic Israel haters.
As The New American reported in a story about Tlaib’s writing for the Final Call, the newspaper of Louis Farrakhan’s Nation of Islam, Tlaib has been a close ally of terror apologist Linda Sarsour, who lost her post on the board of the Women’s March such is her Islamist extremism.
Sarsour campaigned door-to-door with Tlaib in August 2018, Discover the Networks reported, and “Tlaib had raised more than $30,000 from Islamists” connected to the the Muslim American Society, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
After Tlaib won the Democrat primary in August 2018, she “draped herself in a Palestinian flag while celebrating with her supporters,” DTN reported.
Tlaib also supports the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, an anti-Israel effort inspired by the Hamas terror outfit.
One of Tlaib’s supporters once said that her main interest is not representing her constituents, but instead something they care nothing about: “The first fight was for Palestine, always Palestine.”
Other Twitter Lies
Tlaib is not, of course, the only hard-left Democrat who lies on Twitter, but at least she didn’t wait five years to do it.
Two candidates for president, Senators Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren, retailed a lie on the fifth anniversary of the shooting of black thug Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. Both women tweeted that Brown was murdered.
In fact, then-Officer Darren Wilson shot Brown in self-defense, as President Obama’s Justice Department ruled when it examined the case.
