Judge Who Apologized to POTUS Attempted Assassination Suspect Is Far-left Muslim With Immigrant Parents
The far-left federal magistrate judge who apologized to presidential assassination suspect Cole Allen for being restrained in Washington, D.C.’s jail is yet another hate-Trump judge on the city’s U.S. District Court.
Zia Faruqui is a Pakistani Muslim appointed magistrate by the coterie of the court’s leftists. His parents are Pakistani “migrants.”
Poor Cole Thomas Allen, the judge complained, shouldn’t have been in five-point restraints. So Faruqui just had to apologize.
But Faruqui is just one of the troublemakers on the court. Others include the one third who are hate-Trump immigrants. They have played a key role in undermining the Trump administration’s ability to govern.
Boo Hoo
Suspect Allen landed jail after he attempted to murder President Trump and myriad other top administration officials in what he said in a manifesto would be a mass shooting. Trump and his officials were at the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner at the Washington Hilton when Allen, who easily registered at the hotel the day before the attempt, barreled through a security checkpoint in a mad dash for the ballroom.
Secret Service agents stopped the 31-year-old teacher from California. He carried a shotgun, a .38-caliber semiautomatic pistol, and knives. Reason for the attack: Allen was “no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.”
Faruqui, however, was worried that Allen had a little bit of a tough time in the D.C. lockup, Fox News reported about a hearing for the suspect.
Faruqui “has a history as a sharp critic of Trump-era federal prosecutions, a Fox News Digital review of his background found,” the website reported.
Said Faruqui:
To me, it’s extremely disturbing that he was put in five-point restraints, a person with no criminal history. It’s troubling. I never heard of one Jan. 6 defendant who was put in five-point restraints or in a safe cell. If the only way to keep him safe is the most punitive thing, that’s a problem.
At a minimum, I should be apologizing to him. We are obligated to make sure he’s taken care of. Mr. Allen, I’m sorry that things have not been the way they are supposed to.
But Fox also revealed how the Muslim judge wound up on the court.
“Faruqui was selected by judges of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to serve an eight-year term as a magistrate judge in 2020,” Fox reported:
At the time of his September 2020 appointment, the court’s active Article III bench was composed of 15 judges — 11 appointed by Democratic presidents and four appointed by Republican presidents.
He was sworn in by then-Chief Judge Beryl Howell, an Obama appointee who has faced ethics complaints and criticism from Trump allies over her handling of Trump-related matters.
Trump and his allies have repeatedly cast the D.C. federal bench as hostile terrain for the administration, accusing judges in the district — including Chief Judge James Boasberg, who has drawn Trump’s ire in high-profile immigration litigation — of anti-Trump bias in politically charged cases.
The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals recently reprimanded the out-of-control hate-Trump Boasberg with a writ of mandamus, “an order from a court to an inferior government official ordering the government official to properly fulfill their official duties or correct an abuse of discretion,” as the Cornell Law School website explains.
The higher court said Boasberg — who would need just a touch of makeup to play supervillain Red Skull in a Marvel Comics movie — abused his authority by ordering a contempt investigation because of the administration’s attempts to deport Venezuelan illegal-alien criminals.
The arrival of Faruqui’s kin, by the way, is a classic story of the dangers of chain migration. An immigrant lands in the United States, then imports dozens of relatives.
“My mom, dad, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and Dr. Wife all immigrated to the United States!” he wrote to celebrate U.N. International Migrants Day:
I admire them for the leap of faith they took. That’s more courage than I have!
My uncle got here first and had nowhere to stay. So in true Desi fashion, he opened a phone book at O’Hare airport and cold-called people with Indo-Pak names until someone agreed to let him crash at their home.
Faruqui’s magistrate appointment notice explains that he was Muslim-Arab Outreach Coordinator at the U.S. Attorney’s office and a member of the Capital Area Muslim Bar Association. Whether Capital Area Muslim lawyers believe in stoning women who commit adultery or clothing their wives and daughters in burkas is unclear.
American Kahani, whatever that is, reported that Faruqui is the “first Pakistani American” to hold the magistrate’s job.
Other Immigrant Judges
Faruqui, of course, isn’t the only far-left nuisance on the D.C court.
One third of the judges are hate-Trump immigrants, The Federalist reported last year.
Example: Judge Tanya Sue Chutkan, from Kingston, Jamaica, appointed by President Barack Obama in 2014. “Before sitting on federal court, she had no experience as a judge,” the website explained. At the time, foreigner Chutkan oversaw the lawfare against the effort of the Department of Government Efficiency to end wasteful government spending.
Then there’s India-born Amit P. Mehta, also with “no previous experience as a judge.”
Mehta sat on “four January 6 civil cases that aim to blame Trump for injuries and squeeze money, court time, and political embarrassment out of him.”
Former President Joe Biden appointed three of the foreigners.
Immigrant Judge Ana Cecilia Reyes, nominated in 2021, was another no-experience rookie. The Uruguayan’s main qualification seems to have been her Sapphic preferences. “Reyes presided over an objection to Trump’s executive order declaring ‘gender dysphoria’ as ‘inconsistent’ with the ‘high standards for troop readiness.” She blocked the order with an injunction.
In February, she blocked the termination of temporary protected status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians pursuant to former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s rescission last year.
Another Muslim on the court is Amir Hatem Mahdy Ali, an Egyptian raised in Canada, The Federalist continued:
According to his Questionnaire for Judicial Nominees, Ali was not required to register for the U.S. Selective Service. That is because he was not a citizen until 2019.… He worked as a volunteer on Biden’s 2020 transition team and for a phone bank in support of Biden’s presidential campaign. He worked for some nonprofits but never served as a judge until Biden appointed him in 2024. Amir has written extensively and negatively about Trump’s so-called “Travel ban,” a 2017 Executive Order which restricted travel to the U.S. from seven predominantly Muslim countries for 90 days.
In his writing, he said, “prejudice and intolerance” were “the very hallmark of [Trump’s] campaign against Muslims.”…
When confirmed, Amir was a member of the Capital Area Muslim Bar Association; Muslim American Judicial Advisory Council; National Arab American Bar Association; National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; National Police Accountability Project; and the Native American Bar Association of D.C., among others.
Ali single handedly restored $2 billion in USAID spending to foreign nonprofit contractors that the Trump Administration had paused for 90 days, in a stunning overreach of authority last month.
Like the others, Faruqui had no experience as a judge before he became a magistrate. He had been a federal prosecutor.
