Is Ignorance Bliss? Not in Politics!
Americans may be more divided today than at any time since the Civil War. And that division, if it continues to grow, could result in the dissolution of America and the loss of freedom. “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand,” Jesus warned. That truth is as applicable today as it was during biblical times.
During the 250th anniversary year of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, Americans should be unified in our celebration of the principles that made America great. Yet not everyone is celebrating, and not all celebrants have the same understanding of what those principles are — or should be.
Most Americans are proud of their country, even though they may be sharply divided on politics. But a few are ashamed, having bought into the agitprop that America was built on the backs of slaves and is still racist today.
