The Democrats Created the Democratic Socialist Monster Now Consuming Them
After a series of primary wins in New York City and other parts of the country, the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are poised to spread their wings. Some Democrats are unhappy about this, too — often privately and occasionally overtly. Comedian and commentator Bill Maher has asserted that “democratic socialists” are “not Democrats.” (Of course, Democrats aren’t democrats, either.) And joining him now is veteran Democratic strategist James Carville.
“These people are not Democrats,” he said recently, referencing the DSA.
Perhaps not — but they are the Democrats’ demon children, critics may counter.
Reporting on the Carville story Thursday, The Western Journal wrote:
Speaking on Wednesday’s “Politicon” podcast, Carville said the results had convinced him Democrats should consider a formal break with that faction of the party.
Referring to [DSA candidate Darializa] Avila Chevalier, Carville cited a New York Times report that she had previously said white people should not be in interracial marriages.
“Lady, I ain’t in the same party as you,” Carville said. “I’m sorry. I’m just not.”
He continued by saying Democrats should begin discussing a breakup within their party.
“I actually do think it’s time for Democrats to talk the ‘s’ word: schism,” Carville said. “I really do. Everybody’s always said, ‘No, no. We’re a coalition. We’re a big tent.’ And there’s just some s**t I can’t be in the same tent with.”
This is interesting since Carville has long been in the same tent with Bill Clinton, who himself shared a tent with Jeffrey Epstein. The Examiner continued:
Carville argued that despite their primary victories, he does not view democratic socialist candidates as members of the same political movement to which he belongs.
“These people are not Democrats,” he said.
Carville added that party leaders should “negotiate the terms of a schism” with socialists.
Boarding the “Crazy Train.”
When you’ve lost Carville — nicknamed “Serpenthead” in Washington years ago — you may want to wonder if you’ve lost your mind. And how bad are the DSA primary winners? Below is a Hall of Shame sampling, via commentator Monica Showalter in “Democrats board the crazy train in New York.”
The following DSA member, the aforementioned Avila Chevalier, wants to destroy Western civilization.
She also despises the American flag:
At least, though, she’s “religious”:
“Reflect Islam”? And I bet you thought that was Ilhan Omar’s job.
Other positions Chevalier has taken are, writes journalist Bill Melugin:
Abolish prisons, abolish ICE, abolish borders, defund the police, and “all deportations are wrong”, including for violent criminals.
She also, he relates, “has called the U.S. an ‘effing disgrace.’” Melugin then tells us a bit about the other two NYC DSA winners:
Claire Valdez (NY-7): Grant citizenship and voting rights to illegal aliens, use taxpayer funds for all transgender treatments, & eliminate private health insurance.
Brad Lander (NY-10): Abolish ICE, forgive all student loans (almost $2 trillion worth), expand the Supreme Court.
Mamdani gets a clean sweep, a bad night for Hakeem Jeffries, and big questions for where the Democratic Party is heading.
All three are seen below.
And reflecting Carville, the Democratic establishment is rattled. As the New York Post reported Wednesday:
Democrats were shocked when a trio of anti-Israel, socialist candidates backed by Mayor Zohran Mamdani swept Tuesday’s New York House primary races, warning that their ascendance represents a changing of the guard for the party as voters embrace the far left.
“The roof is collapsing on the Democratic Party establishment tonight,” progressive political activist and CNN commentator Van Jones told Kaitlan Collins as election results rolled in.
“And you can’t write off New York City because this … is a power center for the establishment and the insurgency. And they’re going head to head tonight,” he said.
“And right now, this is no longer a movement. This is a movement and a machine at the same time. And there’s just no way to sugarcoat this: If Mamdani pulls off a hat trick, this is a new era in Democratic Party politics.”
A (delicious?) irony: I remember when, many years ago, Jones chuckled while describing himself as “basically a communist.” Hyperbole? Perhaps. But you’re not laughing now, are you, Van?
This gets at a truth, too. As one MSN respondent, Mark Samuel, commenting on the Examiner article put it:
The Dems fueled this fire by peddling their social justice agenda and the Marxists see an opportunity to capitalize on it.
As You Sow…
Now, there’ve been no shortage of films and shows over the years about some scheming soul who releases a demon from Hell, or creates a monster, to do his bidding. The stories often end the same way.
The beast eventually turns on its benefactor and destroys him, in the most fitting of poetic justice.
This is a metaphor for the Democrats’ plight. For decades they peddled anti-American, anti-Christian, and anti-Western propaganda via schools, media, and entertainment, indoctrinating the young. These entities routinely portrayed economic freedom (“capitalism”) as iniquitous and socialism positively.
The Democrats incessantly played one group against another, too. It was blacks against whites, women against men, poorer against richer, with the class-warfare card continually deployed. Why, they even invented new minorities (e.g., “LGBTQ+”) so as to have more groups to manipulate.
The Democrats also released Antifa/BLM goons and other rioters to destabilize the nation whenever they wanted power (especially in 2020). To this end, too, they made vote fraud an art. It was “Anything to win.”
The above were the many heads of the hydra they spawned. And what can they do? Cut off one head and two grow back.
The result is that they can’t have that “schism” Carville demands. The Hill explained why last October:
An early September Gallup poll on Americans’ perception of capitalism and socialism shows the latter is now heavily preferred by Democrats. In 2010, 50 percent of Democrats viewed socialism favorably; today, 66 percent do.
Shedding the socialists might mean splitting the party down the middle. That’s a great idea — for the GOP.
Yet there’s a far bigger problem. When low people with high hopes birth a monster which then turns on them, it doesn’t just consume its creators.
It’s then roaming the countryside.
The socialist/communist beast, which has destroyed nations and souls in its long and bloody past, has been reanimated. We now have to deal with him and send that demon back to Hell — or accept his hell on Earth.
