More than 700 former or retired military, intelligence, diplomatic, and other government leftists have endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president.
The officials, who masquerade as a “bipartisan” group concerned about “democracy,” include general officers, admirals, diplomats, and intelligence officials. The group, however, also includes some of the disgraced and discredited men who, before the 2020 election, falsely said Hunter Biden’s laptop was Russian disinformation.
Claiming the choice in November is between “democracy and authoritarianism,” the group put their voices behind the candidate who supports infanticide, abortion until birth, free “transgender” surgery for illegal aliens, and the “migrant” invasion that ended in the rape and murder of Americans.
Letter Full of Lies
The outfit calls itself National Security Leaders for America, although how much “leading” any one individual has done is unclear. Many are former low-level government bureaucrats who simply hate Donald Trump. Others are simply spouses. But all claim to be “loyal to the ideals of our nation — like freedom, democracy, and the rule of law — not to any one individual or party,” the group wrote.
The group “proudly endorsed” Harris because “national security requires a serious and capable Commander-in-Chief.” And “democracy is invaluable.”
“This election is a choice between serious leadership and vengeful impulsiveness. It is a choice between democracy and authoritarianism,” the group wrote:
Vice President Harris defends America’s democratic ideals, while former President Donald Trump endangers them.
We do not make such an assessment lightly. We are trained to make sober, rational decisions. That is how we know Vice President Harris would make an excellent Commander-in-Chief, while Mr. Trump has proven he is not up to the job. As leaders, we know effective leadership requires in-depth knowledge, careful deliberation, understanding of your adversaries, and empathy for those you lead. It requires listening to those with expertise and not firing them when they disagree with you.
Vice President Harris has proven she is an effective leader able to advance American national security interests. Her relentless diplomacy with allies around the globe preserved a united front in support of Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression. She grasps the reality of American military deterrence, promising to preserve the American military’s status as the most “lethal” force in the world.
Translation: Harris will continue the Deep State’s globalist misadventures.
There followed a lengthy denunciation of Trump:
Mr. Trump threatens our democratic system; he has said so himself. He has called for the “termination” of parts of the Constitution. He said he wants to be a “dictator,” and his clarification that he would only be a dictator for a day is not reassuring. He has undermined faith in our elections by repeating lies, without evidence, of “millions” of fraudulent votes.
He has shown no remorse for trying to overturn the 2020 election on January 6th, promises to pardon the convicted perpetrators, and has made clear he will not respect the results of the 2024 election should he lose again.
That alone proves Mr. Trump is unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.
Discredited Signers
But the credibility of this ballyhooed collection of Deep Staters is in doubt, and not because of their false and/or exaggerated claims about Harris and Trump.
Among the signers are John Brennan, Leon Panetta, and Michael Hayden, CIA directors under Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. Another is with James Clapper, former director of national intelligence, also under Obama.
Before the 2020 election, the four men were among 51 former intelligence officials who falsely claimed that Hunter Biden’s now-famous laptop was “disinformation.” That letter not only allowed Biden to repeat the lie in his third debate with Trump, but also gave the leftist media the excuse to repeatedly discredit the laptop’s contents.
“There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what [Trump is] accusing me of is a Russian plant,” Biden said. “Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage.”
Problem was, the then-current head of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, said it wasn’t. And he was right.
As Special Counsel David Weiss wrote in a filing in May, the laptop “is real.”
Even Hunter Biden admitted the truth in a lawsuit he filed against former Trump adviser Rudy Giuliani.
But yet another reason the NSL4A mustn’t be taken seriously is its implicit endorsement not only of an illegal-alien invasion of the United States but also the blatantly illegal policies that allowed it.
In endorsing Harris, the signers — so concerned about “democracy and authoritarianism” — also fully endorsed the Biden-Harris administration’s illegally paroling “migrants” at the border, or directly flying them into the country. After all, they wrote, “Vice President Harris has proven she is an effective leader able to advance American national security interests.”
Such is the threat that the Biden “migrant” invaders pose that 10 former FBI officials told lawmakers on Capitol Hill that Biden and Harris had precipitated a “an accelerated and strategic penetration, a soft invasion, designed to gain internal access to a country that cannot be invaded militarily in order to inflict catastrophic damage if and when enemies deem it necessary.”
Of the retired military signers, most served in the Navy, Army, or Air Force.
Only 18 were Marines.
As for the group’s “bipartisanship,” it has not endorsed a single Republican for the U.S. Senate or House of Representatives.
