The Democrats’ Man Problem — and Why They Lust After Women

Here’s a staggering finding: American men’s testosterone levels have dropped one percent or more a year for decades. This means their T levels are now up to 35 percent lower than in 1987.

Almost as staggering: This reality gets precious little coverage from the (left-wing) legacy media. Why is this? Try the following on for size.

Researchers at the Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California, discovered last year that “weakly affiliated Democrats” (WADs) had 19 percent higher testosterone levels than those strongly identifying with the party. The kicker:

When these WADs were given additional testosterone, there was a “red shift” toward Republicans.

So perhaps when conservative men describe themselves as “more masculine” than liberal men self-report as, it’s not mere perception. And when left-wing media ignore the declining-T problem, perhaps it’s self-preservation. (As commentator Jesse Lee Peterson has said, “Real men are not progressive.” And do they read The New York Times?)

The T factor may also explain something else. According to commentator Steve McCann, writing today:

In 2024, Donald Trump overwhelmingly captured the white male vote in 42 states (he won 80% of the white male vote in two states, 70 to 76% in seven states, 60 to 69% in 20 states, and 51 to 59% in 13 states).

So, clearly, there are also other factors, such as racial ones. (Testosterone doesn’t trump all — though some of us wish it did!) Nonetheless, Trump won 55 percent of men overall in 2024, along with 60 percent of white men nationally. Moreover, while Democrats’ support among black men is still robust, it is eroding noticeably.

In contrast, Kamala Harris won a majority of women (53 percent) last election. This reflects politics’ well-known male-female voting gap. A prime example was the 2018 midterms, when the GOP carried men 51-47. The Democrats recaptured Congress because they won women 59-40.

This gap has become a historic chasm in recent years, too, especially among Gen Z (ages 14-29). According to polling, it reached a staggering 30 points before the 2024 election among that age group.

Man, Oh Man, We Need Men

The Democrats’ bleeding of male support has been called its “man problem.” Liberals are brainstorming ideas to win the lads back, too. But this may be easier said than done, at least with higher-T men. And an email McCann reports he received may illustrate why. As the commentator relates:

After excoriating me for a recent column I wrote about the DSA’s [Democratic Socialists of America’s] takeover of the Democrat party, the author told me that white men were responsible for all the evil in the world and that, if this group of greedy, racist “genocidal maniacs” were eliminated, the United States, thanks to the magic of Democratic socialism, would be a more “equitable, loving, and hospitable” place for all people.

Attached to this harangue were two links. The first was to an article entitled “White Men Must Be Stopped: The Future of Mankind Depends on It.” It was a tedious and implausible exercise in how American white men (who account for less than 1.5% of the global population) have, over the past five centuries, created untold worldwide misery without doing anything positive for mankind.

The second link, the “DSA Platform, Workers Deserve More,” was a juvenile, 19-page rehash of the wonders of socialism/Marxism, if only the anointed members of the DSA were in charge.

Now, while I’ve been striking a light-hearted note here, socialist/communist talk of “eliminating” a “troublesome” group shouldn’t be shrugged off. After all, the “Left” has a long history of extreme violence, inclusive of liquidating vast numbers of political opponents. (Ergo, Joseph Stalin’s 20-million body count.) White males have, too, become the contemporary Left’s Kulaks.

Nonetheless, the 2010-style liberals do want to win men back. And McCann mentions that The Atlantic (a publication for women and low-T men) has ideas for doing just that. As the magazine’s John Hendrickson posited last year:

Two theories for how to win back men, I found, are bubbling up. One is to improve the party’s cultural appeal to men, embracing rather than scolding masculinity. The other is to focus on more traditional messaging about the economy, on the assumption that if Democrats build an agenda for blue-collar America, the guys will follow.

The first part will be difficult, since the “toxic masculinity”-preaching set is firmly ensconced in academia, legacy media, and entertainment. Misandry imbues modern leftism.

As for peddling traditional economics, McCann points out that the DSA’s ascendancy may render this impossible. That group is putting radicalism front and center. This includes eliminating the Senate, defunding the military, and having a unicameral legislature choose the president and SCOTUS justices. To the point here, however, it also includes aggressive socialist economics.

The Method to the Madness

Consequently, McCann doubts the Democrats can recapture men. Yet while this is likely true short term, is it ultimately too optimistic?

Note that there are places where men vote for leftists, New York City being an example. In 2025, Republican mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa won only eight percent of all men and nine percent of white men. In contrast, socialist Zohran Mamdani won 50 percent of all men and 42 percent of white men in a multi-candidate race. In fact, the men in NYC voted almost identically to the women.

So is it that all Democrats need do is wait for men’s testosterone levels to decline further? That’s overly simplistic, of course. Combine this (perhaps minor) factor, however, with continued indoctrination via the schools, entertainment, media, and Big Tech, and the communistic capons can multiply.

What’s for sure is that all the above explains whom leftists hate and why. Note a near-perfect correlation: Leftists assail groups proportional to how much they threaten left-wing power. They thus attack,

• men more than women;
• women more than the “LGBTQ+” set;
• straight people more than homosexuals;
• white more than non-white men;
• white more than non-white women;
• whites more than non-whites;
• Asian-descent Americans more than blacks;
• rural Americans more than city dwellers;
• Christians more than Muslims; and
• theists generally more than atheists.

Have I missed anyone?

One notable exception to the pattern is leftists’ vicious attacks on Jews in recent years. This happens even though approximately 70 percent of Jews support Democrats electorally.

Regarding the guys, though, yes, many would say masculinity counters leftism. So perhaps, as in some sports, hormonal testing is in order at election time. If your levels are too low, you can just sashay yourself right out of the polling place.
