Feds Raid Ilhan Omar’s D.C. Home in Search of Immigration-fraud Evidence

Federal agents raided the home of far-left Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar of Minnesota this morning.

Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents executed a search warrant in an effort to find evidence of immigration fraud and other crimes.

Omar faces two serious accusations: that she committed immigration fraud before she supposedly became a U.S. citizen, and that she perpetrated marriage fraud by entering into a fake marriage to her brother to get him into the country.

HSI Raid

Fox News reported this morning that HSI agents swarmed into Omar’s home at 6 a.m.

“Two sources close to the investigation say the search stems from a criminal fraud investigation into the Somali-born congresswoman’s immigration paperwork, which was filled out by her late father when she was a child,” Fox reported.

The Justice Department told Fox that the warrant was “judicially” approved, and that the “enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation.” As well, the probe is “criminal.”

Last month, border czar Tom Homan told Fox that DHS had mounted a criminal investigation, reprising what he said in December.

A fraud investigator who reviewed Omar’s file confirmed that “there was immigration fraud involved,” Homan told Newsmax. The “statute of limitations became the issue in the last four years when this was first brought up” in 2020 because of the Biden administration, Homan continued:

[We’re] pulling the records, [we’re] pulling the files. We’re looking at it. But this fraud investigator who I know personally, one of the best fraud investigators in HSI (Homeland Security Investigations), said there’s no doubt. He reviewed the file. So I’m running that down this week … and we’ll see.

After Homan reprised that claim last month, a former federal prosecutor told Fox that booting Omar back to Somalia where she belongs won’t be easy.

“For Omar to be denaturalized, the process would have to be related to allegations that she falsified information when obtaining her own citizenship in 2000,” Fox reported:

Omar claims she was granted automatic citizenship because she was a minor when her father was naturalized.

Congressional records state Omar became a citizen at age 17, but speculation that she was older at the time of her naturalization began after former Minnesota congressional candidate AJ Kern accused Omar’s birth year of being revised on the Minnesota Legislative Reference Library website.

This caused allegations to circulate on social media that she was not a minor at the time, which, if ever proven true, could lead to her denaturalization. Even if her father lied in his citizenship paperwork, this could also potentially lead to Omar being stripped of her citizenship.

The feds must hurdle a “very high bar” to build a case against the leftist, immigration attorney Michael Wildes told Fox News Digital.

“If the government were to prosecute for document fraud, we would also want to know whether or not she was represented by counsel, and if there were simple mistakes on her application or inadvertences that may be deemed to be fraudulent,” Wildes told Fox:

Whether or not [these] things are truthful, hypothesized, or can be backed up in fact, will play heavily in that prosecution.

Omar has repeatedly said she is not afraid of such an investigation, and that attempts to prove immigration and/or marriage fraud are political. She repeated that today on X.

“I’m ok,” she wrote:

Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation.

I will not be silenced.

Marriage Fraud

Omar’s naturalization aside, she also faces another serious allegation: marriage fraud to get brother into the country.

Her bizarre marital history involves multiple marriages and divorces, as well as an affair with a married political consultant, whose consultancy received millions from Omar’s campaign. It was the subject of a Federal Election Commission complaint.

The Daily Mail found Abdihakim Osman, a Somali community leader in Minneapolis, who revealed Omar’s nuptial shenanigans. He confirmed that Omar married her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a British subject.

Osman told the Mail that Omar admitted she would “do what she had to do to get [Elmi] ‘papers’ to keep him in [the] U.S.”

As well, Osman told the Mail, “she said she needed to get papers for her brother to go to school. We all thought she was just getting papers to allow him to stay in this country.”

That would mean Omar, who denies the consanguineous marriage, committed student-loan fraud, another suspicion among those who’ve looked into her shady past. The Mail detailed that past.

Omar married Ahmed Hirsi in 2002, from whom she supposedly separated in 2008 to marry Elmi in 2009, although the three lived together in North Dakota.

Reported the Mail:

Elmi and Omar married on February 12, 2009 at a Hennepin County office in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, southwest of Minneapolis, their marriage license shows. Omar said she and Hirsi [her first husband] had separated in 2008, and because their faith-based union was never recognized by law, neither is their separation.

Elmi and Omar said they lived together at an address in Columbia Heights, a suburb on the north side of the city.

The marriage was conducted by Christian minister Wilecia Harris. When DailyMail.com approached her last year, she would not discuss the ceremony or why a Muslim couple would have asked her to marry them.

Despite the new marriage, Omar and Hirsi, the man she “divorced” to marry Elmi, “were still together as husband and wife,” Osman explained.

Elmi and Omar needed an outside cleric to perform the ceremony, Osman told the Mail, because a Somali Muslim would know they were related and refuse to officiate.

Somali Agent of Influence

Perhaps more disturbing than marriage, immigration, and student-loan fraud is Omar’s repeated insistence that she really represents Somalia, not Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. Then there’s her role in the Feeding Our Future federal food-fraud scheme. It was a mostly Somali operation that skinned taxpayers for $250 million in federal subsidies.

Omar said she has a “special relationship” with the president of Somalia.

“I call him uncle and he calls me his girl,” she said when he visited Minneapolis:

Welcome to your home. Our home is your home. … We are very happy that [Hassan Sheikh Mohamud] is our president. Somalia is our home. It is home to all the people gathered here. We do not feel that it is far from us. Somalia is our home. … It is in our hearts. We always think about Somalia.

Days later, she called Somalia “our country.”

“The U.S. Government will only do what Somalians in the U.S. tell them to do,” she said:

They will do what we want and nothing else.…

We Somalians must have the confidence in ourselves that we call for the shots in the U.S. We live in the U.S., pay taxes in the U.S., and have a real voice. The U.S. is a country where one of your daughters (myself) is in Congress to represent your interest. For as long as I am in the U.S. Congress, Somalia will never be in danger, its waters will not be stolen by Ethiopia or others. The U.S. would not dare to support anyone against Somalia to steal our land or oceans.

Aimee Bock, the food-fraud mastermind, claimed that Omar aided the fraud by writing the legislation that enabled the fraudsters to get the federal subsidies.

Worse, Bock said, Omar knew about the fraud.
