Connecticut Public School Administrator Admits to Discriminating Against Catholics/Conservatives

In a new series on education, Project Veritas has yet again exposed a leftist doing what many of us suspected, but could never fully prove.

This time, the undercover journalists at Project Veritas have uncovered admitted discriminatory hiring practices in at least one Connecticut public school district. On Tuesday, the watchdog group released a video in which Jeremy Boland, an assistant principal at Cos Cob Elementary School in the Greenwich Public School System, admitted that he discriminates against Catholics when hiring staff.

Asked by the undercover journalist what he does when he finds out an applicant is a Catholic, Boland responded matter-of-factly, “You don’t hire them.”

It’s easy to cast discriminatory aspersions against Boland, but it isn’t necessary, as he does so for himself in the twelve-minute video.

“The conservative [teacher], who is stuck in her ways. I’ll never be able to fire her, and I’ll never be able to change her. So, I make an impact with the next teacher I hire,” Boland smugly acknowledged.

Boland was less worried about protestants — at least in his own area. “Protestants in this area [of Connecticut] are probably the most liberal. But if they’re Catholic — conservative … you don’t hire them.”

He also admitted that, in at least one case, he discriminated against a new hire based on age, as well: “For one position, I think we had 30 applicants. So out of all those applicants, I don’t think I interviewed anybody over the [age] of 30 … the older you get, the more set in your ways — the more conservative you get.”

Boland readily admits that his hiring discrimination is a way to assure that students are force-fed leftist dogma as fact in Cos Cob Elementary’s classrooms.

“Believe it or not, the open-minded, more progressive teachers are actually more savvy about delivering a Democratic message without really ever having to mention politics,” he said in the video.

On the other hand, Boland referred to Catholics who might be interested in teaching as “brainwashed.”

“Because if someone is raised hardcore Catholic, it’s like they’re brainwashed,” he explained. “You can never change their mindset. So, when you ask them to consider something new, like a new opportunity, or ‘you have to think about this differently,’ they’re stuck — just rigid.”

In all fairness, couldn’t the same charge be leveled at liberal teachers? Are they not also set in their ways?

Boland marveled at the subtlety with which his left-wing teachers peddle left-wing ideology to schoolchildren.

“So, it’s subtle,” he explained. “They [teachers I hire] will never say, ‘Oh, this is [a] liberal or a Democratic way of doing this.’ They’ll just make that the norm — and this is how we handle things, it’s subtle.… That’s how you get away with it.”

“Get away with it” is a term used by criminals who don’t wish to be caught.

At least one Greenwich public official, First Selectman Fred Camillo, wants to make sure that Boland does not “get away with it,” and is calling for an immediate investigation of the matter.

“The Veritas video just released, and I see no reason to suspect it is not accurate, is shameful and needs a full investigation into not only this administrator, but the damage caused to applicants, past and present,” Camillo said in a Facebook post. “Our kids deserve better. Our schools deserve better. Our town deserves better.”

Camillo went on to say, “As a former educator, and a former Cos Cob School student who grew up in the shadow of the building, this hits home. To think that Roman Catholic applicants may have applied for teaching positions and not received proper consideration due to their religion seems like something from a bygone era, not 2022.”

“According to this assistant principal, Conservatives, older applicants, and others deemed not progressive were not given an opportunity afforded others,” he concluded, calling for “a complete review of hiring practices” in the Greenwich School District.

Once again, Project Veritas has caught someone admitting to a practice that many of us already suspected was true. Public schools throughout the United States have become nothing more than left-wing indoctrination centers for our youth. It’s no wonder the organization has become the target of the mainstream media, The New York Times, and even the FBI.
