UK’s Cameron, Osborne Urge G20 to Scare Brits to Vote Against EU Exit

British Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne is in China urging G20 leaders to bully Brits into staying in the European Union. Meanwhile a senior scholar at the globalist Peterson Institute for International Economics even proposes that British Prime Minister David Cameron and EU/French officials collude on non-enforcement of the borders and swamp the Channel Tunnel with Muslims from refugee camps in France to sabotage Brexit vote.

It is no secret that Osborne (shown at right with Cameron) is a cheerleader for the European Union and a fierce opponent of the popular movement in the UK for a British exit (“Brexit”) from the increasingly despotic EU system. Now that Brits will have an opportunity to vote on the Brexit — in a national referendum on June 23 — Osborne, Prime Minister David Cameron, and the entire globalist establishment are ramping up the threats of calamity and repercussions, if British voters go against the “ever closer union” that is strangling Britain’s sovereignty and independence.

Osborne, who is now in Shanghai, China, at the Group of 20 (G20) meeting of finance ministers and central bankers, is using the opportunity to prod his G20 counterparts to use their influence to help him scare British voters into voting against the Brexit. “Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne is seeking to rally international finance chiefs to the campaign to keep Britain in the European Union,” Bloomberg Business reported on February 25. “A two-day meeting in Shanghai of finance ministers and central bankers from the Group of 20 nations that started Friday offers Osborne the opportunity to drum up foreign endorsements as Prime Minister David Cameron puts the economy at the center of his case for staying in the bloc.” According to the Bloomberg report, “The topic of so-called Brexit was already raised when Osborne met Chinese government officials in Beijing on Thursday…. Among those he met was Vice Premier Ma Kai.”

In a BBC Television interview in Shanghai, Osborne said, “This is about people’s jobs and their livelihoods and their living standards.” Chancellor of the Exchequer is the British Cabinet-level position responsible for all economic and financial affairs, equivalent to the position of U.S. Treasury secretary or finance minister in other nations. “In my judgment as chancellor,” said Osborne in the BBC interview, “leaving the EU would represent a profound economic shock for our country, for all of us, and I’m going to do everything I can to prevent that happening.”

However, many British critics believe the Cameron-Osborne campaign against the Brexit is more about serving the globalist agenda of the financial elites than saving the jobs, livelihoods, and living standards of ordinary middle-class people. Both Cameron and Osborne are veteran attendees of the Bilderberg Group, the secretive coterie of bankers, industrialists, and politicians that functions as the global shadow government. As we noted in our extensive 1989 report on the European Economic Community (EEC, as the EU was previously known) members of the Bilderberg Group have played key roles every step of the way in the establishment and evolution of the EU since its launch as the European Coal and Steel Community in 1951.

Globalists Threaten “Terrible Consequences” for Brexit

Cameron and Osborne received help for their anti-Brexit campaign from fellow Bilderberger Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund. In an interview with CNN, Lagarde warned a Brexit would be “negative on all fronts” and that uncertainty in the run-up to the June 23 referendum “is bad in and of itself.”

The Cameron/Osborne anti-Brexit team also receives solid backing from the globalist forces at the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Peterson Institute for International Economics, Brookings Institute, Chatham House (Royal Institute of International Relations (RIIA), the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), and other centers promoting “global governance” (the current euphemism for world government). A February 22 article by Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) senior fellow Jacob Funk Kirkegaard, entitled “The Odds Remain against a Brexit” warns that the EU is “not going to play nice” and may inflict “terrible consequences for anyone leaving.”

“Essentially all major non-European economies — the United States and China in particular — have made their preferences for the United Kingdom to remain in the European Union very clear,” says Kirkegaard, “and which natural economic and political partners the United Kingdom would have outside the European Union is hence unclear. Which “essentially” means that all the EU talk about democracy and freedom is twaddle; the EU elites will accept only votes that move in the direction of more centralization, more control, more infringements on national sovereignty, and abolition of local rule and customs. “Many emerging markets are now under severe economic stress and cannot easily be the platform upon which future UK international economic relations and prosperity are based,” Kirkegaard claims. He goes on to warn:

The European Union is also not going to play nice with the United Kingdom if it leaves. Its handling of Greece and the euro set an example to other wobbling members of threatening terrible consequences for anyone leaving. Divorce will be anything but amicable or quick, jeopardizing broader economic relations and the City of London’s ability to remain the undisputed financial center of Europe.

The Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) is named for Peter G. Peterson, the billionaire founder of the Blackstone Group, the huge private equity/investment banking/asset management firm. Besides chairing the PIIE, Peterson is a regular Bilderberg alum and chairman emeritus of the CFR. PIIE founder C. Fred Bergsten and PIIE president Adam S. Posen are also veteran CFR members, as are many other of its officers and scholars.

Migrant Flood Extortion Threat

Signaling just how dirty the anti-Brexit campaign could get, Kirkegaard suggests Cameron and the EU use the threat of opening the Channel Tunnel to floods of Middle East Muslim refugees:

Cameron and the European Union should remind British voters that it is French authorities who guard their borders. The French government could warn that France is prepared to nullify its bilateral border agreement with Britain providing for control of migrants in various places, including the Calais camp [near the French side of the tunnel], if Britain leaves the European Union. And if that doesn’t work, Paris can send its gendarmerie in Calais home for a weekend ahead of the vote in late May, facilitating the exodus of camp inhabitants through the channel tunnel. The spectacle of thousands of migrants streaming into southern England might remind British voters about the benefits of maintaining the status quo on border control inside the European Union.

However, these kinds of iron-fist threats may ultimately backfire, causing more anger among British voters, as they see more clearly the thuggish nature of the EU promoters and the extremes to which they are willing go to preserve their power and press forward with their “integration” and “convergence” schemes.
