Socialism and Islamic Supremacism: Two Strange Bedfellows Aiming to Destroy Our Republic

Both want to change our system of law. Both hate the United States and Western civilization. And both detest Christianity. They also, by forming an alliance, become the strangest of bedfellows. They are socialism and Islamic supremacism in America — and both forces are growing.

Socialism, under the name “Democratic Socialists of America” (DSA), is quickly dropping its mask. Its new platform, released last week, calls for eliminating the Senate and having a wholly empowered Congress choose the president and Supreme Court. The DSA also wants to convene a second constitutional convention to make the preceding possible. The idea is to draft new founding documents guaranteeing a “socialist democracy.”

Political activist and Islamic supremacist Linda Sarsour is a bit less ambitious — at least in her overt pronouncements. She at this moment just wants to replace the Declaration of Independence with a document reflecting “our [read: their] values.” Whether this would be a Declaration of Dependence or a Declaration of Dependence on Allah, she didn’t say.

The new DSA plan was unveiled last week. Fox News writes that it

includes eliminating the U.S. Senate and replacing the president and the Supreme Court with an executive branch and judiciary chosen by and subordinate to Congress.

So to be clear, the DSA’s platform would undermine the Constitution’s prescribed balance of powers. It would enable a one-chamber Congress (no Senate) to appoint a president and judges who are rubber stamps for its agenda.

He Read It in Russian

This said, and to be fair, this DSA plan isn’t unprecedented. Just ask commentator and Georgian immigrant Emzari Gelashvili. As he stated Monday, “Mamdani’s socialists wrote a new platform,” and

I have seen this design before. Not in a think tank paper — in a Soviet classroom, where studying it was mandatory, and enthusiasm was graded.

The 1936 Soviet constitution declared the Supreme Soviet “the highest organ of state power.” The government was formed by it and accountable to it. Judges were chosen by the soviets and could be recalled by them. Separation of powers was dismissed as a bourgeois superstition; the approved doctrine was called “unity of power.” On paper, it was the most democratic constitution on Earth, and Western intellectuals said so at the time.

The reason the DSA wants such a system is that without constitutional checks and balances, revolutionary change can be easily effected. In the DSA’s new world, as in the USSR, constitutional rights would just be for show.

The DSA also wants “amnesty for all immigrants and defunding the Department of War,” Gelashvili further informs. He then continues:

This sits atop the existing platform, which already demands an immediate end to all deportations, free migration without border controls, voting rights for noncitizens, [and] universal rent control.

These socialists would currently flood our nation with foreigners because they know that, upon naturalization, most would vote for them. This unfettered migration would stop cold, however, once the DSA had power. Why? Because it’s destabilizing. And you only want to upset the apple cart when it’s the other guy’s apple cart. Once you possess the power, stabilization (what Cold War communists called “normalization”) is the order of the day.

The same is true regarding the defunding of the military and police. That ends the moment at issue are the socialists’ military and police. These entities then not only will be funded generously, but empowered to break heads.

Yes, They Have the Audacity

Now we come to daughter of Palestinian immigrants Linda Sarsour and her Declaration declaration (short clip below). She asks, “Do we have the audacity to … build a document that is our values?”

The kicker: Sarsour is a member of the DSA. Surprised?

Then there’s a development Sarsour would surely endorse. Right from the Pressing 1 for English file, commentator J.B. Shurk reported Monday:

On social media platforms last week, videos spread of a Home Depot shopping experience in Dearborn, Michigan. Signs throughout the store were in Arabic.

Shurk further mentions that other Dearborn retailers — such as Walmart, Costco, Kroger, and Albertsons — also post Arabic signs.

Shurk later adds:

In describing the social media firestorm, journalist Bob Unruh pointed out that Dearborn, Michigan, now has a majority Muslim population, a Muslim police force, Muslim city officials, and official Muslim holidays. Dearborn’s Muslim mayor recently “told a Christian he’s not welcome in the city.” Dearborn’s Muslim police chief recently “bragged about how a large increase in the number of Arab police officers was better serving the city and ended his boast with a Muslim prayer.” Dearborn recently renamed a city street in honor of a resident who has allegedly supported Islamic terrorism in the past.

Of course, this isn’t surprising. It results from immigration policy that too many Americans have electorally enabled. Immigration policy isn’t just a matter of importing “workers.” Rather, it absolutely determines what kind of country you’ll be tomorrow. If you absorbed enough Martians, you’d become a Martian civilization. (That might raise the average IQ, though.)

Apropos to our situation, note the findings of a 2015 poll of Muslims in the United States. A slim majority, 51 percent, believe they should be allowed to govern themselves with Sharia and not American civil law. The 2015 “(Muslim) man on the street” interviews below illustrate this — and more — shockingly.

Those Bedfellows

As to the Islamic supremism-socialism nexus, the DSA has a “Muslim Caucus” (but no Christian Caucus, do note). Prominent Muslim members include Representative Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D-N.Y.C.). Another Muslim representative, Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), is DSA-endorsed.

One may think there’d be friction between devout Muslims and devoted leftists. There has been, too. In 2023, Hamtramck, Michigan — the first American city with an all-Muslim government — banned the “Pride” flag from public property. The old-line Democrats that had been ousted by the Muslim Democrats weren’t happy about it, either. But Hamtramck’s new overlords didn’t care. Oddly, too, the legacy media didn’t feel compelled to combat this anti-“LGBTQ+” “bigotry.” They imitated crickets.

And this may be a portent of things to come. The socialists and Islamic supremacists are currently united in their anti-American, -Western, -Christian hatred. We could easily foresee a day, however, when they vanquish their foes and then fight each other for primacy. On the other hand, they also may meld together fairly well (at least for a time). After all, nothing in traditional socialism dictates tolerance for sexual devolutionary agendas. And there may be nothing in Islam that’s antithetical to collectivism.

What we can know for sure is that this is about power. The enemies within want it — and they’ll burn down the Republic to get it.
