Was Democracy Really on the Ballot?

On November 2, less than a week prior to the midterm elections, President Joe Biden gave a grave speech at Union Station in Washington, D.C., warning that “democracy is on the ballot.”

How so? 

To establish the proper tone for his astounding assertion, Biden began by referring to the recent attack on Paul Pelosi, the husband of the speaker of the House. “Where’s Nancy? Where’s Nancy?” the president quoted Pelosi’s assailant saying. He then continued: “Those were the very same words used by the mob when they stormed the United States Capitol on January the 6th.”
