911, What’s Your Emergency?

When a young boy in Tallahassee, Florida, called 911 on May 6 to say he was lonely and needed a new friend, Officer Joe White responded immediately.

According to the Facebook page for the City of Tallahassee Police Department, Officer White met with the boy and explained to him that 911 is reserved for emergencies. However, Officer White assured the six-year-old that he would be his friend, and left him with a stuffed animal as a gift.

Officer White did not rush off, either. He spent some time with the little boy, and even gave him a chance to sit in the patrol car.
