Intruder Shot in the Face
State police in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, are investigating a home break-in and shooting in Henry Clay Township that occurred August 17.
Police were called to the home after the 911 dispatcher received a call about a robbery around 11:00 p.m. An intruder broke in to the home, and the homeowner fired multiple shots at the suspect, hitting him twice in the face. The wounded suspect, later identified as 62-year-old David Luczak, was flown to the nearest hospital, and is expected to survive his injuries. Police are preparing charges against Luczak. This isn’t his first brush with the law; Cleveland19.com reported that he was charged in a shooting death 10 years ago. He took a plea deal related to the death, and was sentenced to 15 months in prison.
Road Rage Shooting Goes Viral
The Indianapolis Star reported on August 6 about a road-rage related shooting that was captured on a smartphone video, which quickly went viral. The recording, which is only seven seconds long, shows a man armed with a handgun running up to a white pickup truck and banging on the driver’s side door while yelling “you want to play with me?” before being fatally shot in the face by the truck’s driver. The man who was shot was later identified as Gavin Dasaur, an immigrant from India who came to America in 2016. The driver cooperated with authorities, and said he fired in self-defense.
