Smearing Trump

We should expect that the Democrats and media will wage an escalating Stalinesque smear campaign against Trump from now until November. ...

By now, every American has been “warned” hundreds, if not thousands, of times that Donald J. Trump is a brutal wannabe dictator. In fact, nearly every person on the planet with access to any news or social media has been bombarded with the message that, should he regain the Oval Office, a Hitler-channeling Trump would turn the United States into a fascist, neo-Nazi prison state. It’s not just CNN, MSNBC, CBS, PBS, NPR, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Time, and the rest of the hive-mind U.S. media spewing this venom; the entire globalist media cabal has been sounding the “coming Trump dictatorship” alarm as well. Nothing particularly new here. Like their American counterparts, the comrades at the BBC, ITV, The Guardian, The Independent, The Sun,Euronews, Le Figaro, Le Monde,France 24, Deutsche Welle, Der Spiegel,Reuters, The Associated Press, Univision, and the rest of the Davos-Pravda mediocracy have been goose-stepping in unison, dispensing the same Trump Derangement Syndrome Kool-Aid for the past eight years.

While the Trump-as-Hitler trope has been around from the beginning — since he came down the Trump Tower elevator in June 2015 to announce his White House candidacy — that smear took a back seat to “Russia, Russia, Russia” for a while as his opponents unified behind a ludicrous conspiracy theory that they thought they could use to drive him from office. However, the “Trump-Russia Conspiracy” ploy failed miserably. As did the “Trump-Ukraine Conspiracy” gambit, Impeachment 1.0, Impeachment 2.0, the Deep State Intel Community treachery, the Deep State bureaucracy insurrection, and so much more. And now the entire vicious lawfare campaign they are waging against him might be failing as well.

Panic time. What to do? Withhold Secret Service protection so he can be assassinated? Oops, another fail. Not a lot of options left (other than another assassination attempt). Time to go back to the basics: ramp up the Hitler-Nazi-fascist-dictator-authoritarian slander mill again.

Take him down, one way or another! When nonstop character assassination doesn’t succeed, try the real thing. Secret Service agents surround Donald Trump on July 13, 2024, after a would-be assassin’s bullet grazed his ear. It was only a few millimeters away from being a fatal shot. (AP Images)

It didn’t work last time. But maybe saying it over and over and louder and louder will make it work this time around — especially if it is augmented with plenty of federal agents provocateurs stirring up FBI false-flag operations such as the Gretchen Whitmer “kidnap plot,” the January 6 “insurrection,” and the Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally. Several violent, high-profile incidents like those might suffice to cement the Biden/Harris DOJ/FBI case for Trump and his MAGA Republicans being “domestic terrorists.” One might have thought that the nearly successful July 13 assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, would have dampened the media’s anti-Trump incendiary headlines and the Democrats’ nonstop vilification of the “Orange Führer.” After all, for the past eight years the mantra of the Hate-Trump/Never-Trump Uniparty and its media and academic accomplices has been that Trump has promoted a “brutal,” “toxic,” “pernicious” polarization in our country, and it’s time for a more “moderate,” “civil” discourse. However, these advocates of civility and moderation are the same ones who ceaselessly label Trump and his MAGA supporters as racists, fascists, Nazis, misogynists, xenophobes, homophobes, Islamophobes, traitors, insurrectionists, etc.

“Dictator” Gotcha!

Ah, but this time is different. Now we are not speculating. We know Trump will be a dictator! Because he has said so — in his own words! There’s no denying it now! So, do the anti-Trumpers, never-Trumpers, all-the-time-hate-Trumpers finally have the supreme gotcha they think they have? Well, not exactly. In fact, not even close. Like their lie about Trump’s “very fine people on both sides” quote from Charlottesville (which we’ll examine in a moment), this one also falls apart on examination.

Trump has made the “dictator” statement several times, so there should be no confusion about it. But the Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) folks on the Left are fixated on sowing confusion and hate, so they intentionally, repeatedly misrepresent his words. For the record, here is what Donald Trump said on Fox News to host Sean Hannity: “I love this guy. He says, ‘You’re not going to be a dictator, are you?’ I said, ‘No, no, no, other than day one. We’re closing the border and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling.”

“After that, I’m not a dictator,” Trump told Hannity and the Fox audience. Of course, the TDS commentariat went crazy. In fashion typical for him, Trump refused to cave to the media attacks and doubled down. Speaking at a New York event, he criticized the media frenzy and reiterated his point, saying: “You know why I want to be a dictator? Because I want a [border] wall, right? I want a wall, and I want to drill, drill, drill.” Now, it is arguably true that Trump could have (and should have) avoided giving ammunition to his enemies by not rhetorically stepping into the (self-made) “dictator” trap in the first place. But it is just as true that the scrappy, unscripted, off-the-cuff New Yorker is given to impolitic, infelicitous comments that adversaries love to turn into “horrifying” remarks.

Clearly, Trump’s “I want a wall, and I want to drill” statements have nothing to do with establishing a goose-stepping Gestapo or starting a new Holocaust. Yet, according to the regime media, that is what we are supposed to believe. According to Senators Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), and Representatives Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), and Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), that is what we’re supposed to believe. According to “Republicans” such as former Representatives Liz Cheney (R-Wy.) and Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, former Defense Secretary William Cohen, political commentator David Frum, and neoconservative luminary Bill Kristol, that is what we’re supposed to believe. According to Cheney, the coalescing of GOP support behind Trump indicates that the United States is “sort of sleepwalking into dictatorship.” “The tools that he is using are tools that we’ve seen used by authoritarians, fascists, tyrants around the world,” she claims.

But what are those “authoritarian” tools, and how is he using — or how has he used — them as a tyrant or dictator? Remember, he has already been president of the United States. And he did use his executive orders to “build the wall” (to defend our border from the Obama/Biden-encouraged invasion) and to “drill, baby, drill” (to free our energy sector from the Obama/Biden-imposed regulatory shackles). Now he is saying he will do it again. If that’s dictatorial, pray tell, how shall we describe the hundreds of executive orders from Joe Biden, many of which are harmful and dictatorial, including some that have already been ruled by the courts to be clearly unconstitutional? Many of the loudest voices in the anti-Trump lobby screaming about reverence for “the rule of law” and “following the Constitution” are coming from the same shrill activists who have been egging on Joe Biden’s assaults on the Constitution, the rule of law, due process, and equal protection. But that is what we have come to expect: Like the thief who makes his getaway by pointing and yelling “thief!” at an innocent bystander, our political crooks and their media enablers have prospered by brazenly accusing their opponents of the very crimes they themselves are committing.

But what about Trump’s urging of Christians to get out and vote, and his claim that if they come out and vote, they “won’t have to vote anymore?” Sounds like a slam-dunk, one-vote-forever dictatorship, no? That’s what the left-wing punditry would have us believe. Canadian NTV commentator Don Bradshaw told his X/Twitter followers, “Trump has, essentially, admitted he will become a dictator, if elected. He has vowed this will be the last time Americans will have to vote in elections. This isn’t media interpretation. He says Americans won’t have to vote in 4 years.” Similar screed flowed from much of the rest of the “progressive” media fraternity. Britain’s Mirror was more honest, admitting that many of the critics might be squeezing hard to find nefarious intent in Trump’s “unregular” commenting style. “Mr. Trump has an unregular style of delivering speech and it is unclear exactly what he meant by his Christian supporters not needing to vote. But his detractors soon branded the former US president an aspiring dictator and expressed concern over his comments,” the Mirror’s Anders Anglesey reported. It is worth noting that the Mirror is a left-of-center, pro-Labour, pro-EU, anti-Brexit, anti-Trump outfit. But it still saw fit to give readers context and nuance. That’s fairness, not “Trumpsplaining.” As surveys and political analysts have noted, millions of Christians are not registered to vote or do not vote regularly. So, is it not perfectly understandable that Trump would urge this important base to vote? “I don’t care how, but you have to get out and vote and again, Christians get out and vote just this time,” he said. “You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It will be fixed. It will be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore.” Again, that’s vintage off-the-cuff Trump. He’ll fix everything. It will be fine. Exaggerated promise? Yes. Unrealistic expectation? Yes. A bald-faced admission of dictatorial ambitions? Hardly. He’s simply trying to motivate Christians to get out of the pews and off the couch come voting day. Not exactly Hitlerian!

However, this is par for the course. Consider Charlottesville, which we mentioned above. It took Snopes, the left-wing “fact-checking” site, seven years to admit one of the most vile and widespread media smears of President Trump was categorically “False.” The headline of its amazing June 21, 2024 posting was titled, “No, Trump Did Not Call Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists ‘Very Fine People.’” It was amazing because by that time the various press organs, as well as radical Democrats and RINO Republicans, had already used the false charges thousands of times to label-lynch Trump as a “racist,” “neo-Nazi,” “fascist,” and “white supremacist.” Very few of Snopes’ media comrades have bothered to acknowledge their participation in the Big Lie, and if any have offered mea culpas, we haven’t seen or heard them. They have not the slightest interest in atoning for their past lies. They know that if they repeat those lies often enough, they will become “facts.”

Here are the real facts: At a news conference on August 15, 2017, President Trump noted that among the people who opposed the taking down of the Robert E. Lee monument in Charlottesville, Virginia, were many “very fine people” who had nothing to do with the “Unite the Right” neo-Nazis and the violence that erupted. In response to a reporter’s question, Trump referred to the neo-Nazis, saying, “You had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides.”

Further on in the presser, Trump again made it clear he was condemning the neo-Nazis. “I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and the white nationalists, because they should be condemned totally,” he said. “But you had many people in that group other than neo-Nazis and white nationalists, okay? And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly. Now, in the other group also, you had some fine people, but you also had troublemakers, and you see them come with the black outfits, and with the helmets, and the baseball bats, you got a lot of bad people in the other group too.”

The video is available online at Snopes and elsewhere, so there’s no he said-she said verification dilemma. In subsequent statements Trump also made it abundantly clear that he totally condemned the neo-Nazis and their violent actions. We’ve reported this before, as have other alternative media. That doesn’t matter; the cabal media have their lying narrative to follow, and they have done just that: lie, lie, lie. For seven years. Now it is being recycled again by the same politicians and their favorite media presstitutes.

The monstrous Charlottesville fabrication is only one of many media lies we’ve faced in the Trump era. Lest we forget, in addition to those mentioned above (Trump-Russia, Trump-Ukraine, Trump-Insurrection, Trump-Lawfaregate, etc.) we have also been hammered with media fictions such as the “mostly peaceful” deadly BLM-Antifa riots; the Nicholas Sandmann/Covington Catholic High School “racism” scandal; the Border Patrol “whipping” lie; the lies about the “kids in cages”; the Big Lie that Trump claims of election fraud in 2020 are “baseless”; and on and on.

Dead protester, deadly lies: The deadly protest in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017 spawned a media Big Lie that President Trump had refused to condemn the neo-Nazis and had called them “very fine people,” a lie that has been repeated tens of thousands of times. (AP Images)

Deep State Dems: “Fight Dirty”

In January 2019, midway through Donald Trump’s presidency, a book by a little-known professor caused a big stir in the Democratic Party and their media myrmidons. Titled It’s Time to Fight Dirty: How Democrats Can Build a Lasting Majority in American Politics, the slim volume by David Faris, a political science professor at Roosevelt University, provided a dictatorial agenda and dirty-fighting playbook for the yet-to-be-installed Team Biden/Harris. The Faris “Fight Dirty” plan was embraced by the same virtue signalers who claim that Trump is a “dirty fighter” and a “threat to democracy”: Politico, The New York Times, Daily KOS, Jacobin, The Guardian, Vox, The Intercept, The Daily Beast, and the rest of the usual motley crew.

On July 4, 2018, Rob Goodman over at Politico gave us a piece titled, “Hey Democrats, Fighting Fair Is for Suckers.” Here’s the article’s not-so-subtle subtitle: “Court-packing! Puerto Rican statehood! Votes for felons! Why — and how — the next Democratic majority should play dirty.” Goodman was delirious at the possibilities of Faris’ audacious schemes, writing:

The list of those changes is dizzying. Grant statehood to D.C. and Puerto Rico, and break California in seven, with the goal of adding 16 new Democrats to the Senate. Expand the Supreme Court and the federal courts, packing them with liberal judges. Move to multi-member House districts to roll back the effects of partisan gerrymandering. Pass a new Voting Rights Act, including nationwide automatic voter registration, felon enfranchisement and an end to voter ID laws. Grant citizenship to millions of undocumented immigrants, creating a host of new Democratic-leaning voters: “Republicans have always feared that immigration would change the character of American society. Democrats should reward them with their very worst nightmare.”

Of course, Team Biden/Harris and the Democrats have followed this subversive course, especially as it relates to registering convicted felons and illegal migrants to vote and getting rid of voter ID laws. Yet, the media outcry will continue to be that MAGA Republican “bigotry” is the threat to our Constitution and rule of law.

Justice, Not Revenge

In June, MSNBC host Rachel Maddow made a guest appearance on ABC’s The View to warn of the Orwellian future we would face in the event of a Trump reelection. Maddow, Joy Behar, Whoopi Goldberg, and their gal pals indulged in histrionic speculation about ruthless retribution, prosecution, and imprisonment for themselves and other Trump opponents. Now, ask yourself: Did any of those terrifying fears come true in Trump’s first term of office? Did he send federal SWAT teams (along with CNN TV crews) to arrest Joe Biden, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and their advisors? Did he send the FBI to conspire with Twitter and Facebook to spy on Americans? Did he sic the IRS on journalists investigating his abuses? Did his DOJ conspire with local activist district attorneys to engage in lawfare against his opponent and conduct egregious election interference? Did he use the Intelligence Community to interfere in the election? Did his DOJ/FBI target law-abiding parents as domestic extremists? Did he send FBI spies into churches to report on devout believers? Answer: No, no, no, no, no, no, and no! But how about Biden? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, and yes!

In his speech to a wildly cheering 2024 CPAC (Conservative Political Action Conference) audience, Donald Trump declared, “I am your retribution.” That, say fainthearted “progressives,” was a not-so-subtle threat of a coming bloodbath.

Here’s what Trump actually said: “In 2016, I declared: I am your voice. Today, I add: I am your warrior. I am your justice. And for those who have been wronged and betrayed: I am your retribution.”

Moreover, he added, “For seven years you and I have been engaged in an epic struggle to rescue our country from the people who hate it and want to absolutely destroy it.” “With you at my side,” he continued, “we will demolish the Deep State. We will expel the warmongers. We will drive out the globalists. We will cast out the communists. We will throw off the political class that hates our country. We will beat the Democrats. We will rout the fake news media. We will expose and appropriately deal with the RINOs. We will evict Joe Biden from the White House. And we will liberate America from these villains and scoundrels once and for all.”

“We have no choice. This is the final battle,” Trump warned, employing apocalyptic terms. “If we don’t do this, our country will be lost forever.” One needn’t accept Donald Trump as our national savior to agree with his assessment that Biden and Harris have put us on the “fast track to hell.”

If you are a Deep Stater, warmonger, globalist, or communist who hates America and wants to destroy it, then Trump’s speech might indeed sound like a dire threat. But, if you are an ordinary, freedom-loving, law-abiding American, it probably sounds like a plan for long-overdue justice. It is not tit-for-tat payback for past injustices. It is not thumbscrews and guillotines for mere political opponents. Nor is it brutal confinement like that of the J6 defendants in the Biden/Harris “DC Gulag.” It is that, finally, in a new Trump administration, we could dare to hope for genuine justice through which at least some of the most despicable officials who have been willfully riding roughshod over our Constitution and the rule of law will serve prison time for their criminal deeds; for a country in which everyday Americans need not fear the dreaded 3:00 a.m. raid by jackbooted federal thugs for having run afoul of some “thought crime” or regulatory minutiae dreamt up by ruling-class bureaucrats.

Team tyranny: The Biden-Harris regime has presided over the most frightening and far-reaching devastation of our national security, while at the same time escalating the federal government’s attacks on freedom of speech and using the FBI and DOJ to terrorize and prosecute its opponents. (AP Images)

If the rule of law and adherence to the Constitution are to mean anything, if trust in our institutions is to be restored, and if a thoroughly politicized, weaponized, two-tiered system of justice is to be remedied, then prosecution of these political criminals (yes, criminals) is absolutely necessary. Crime without consequence only guarantees more crime. This is especially true of crime in government. True justice should be retributive (not cruel, vengeful, or capricious) to discourage further criminal activity by government officials. So, yes, “retribution” is definitely in order (with full constitutional protections and due process for the accused).

Would Donald Trump, if elected, do everything in his power to deliver on his promises? In the world of politics, we have no such ironclad assurances. However, we do know without a doubt that his opponents are continuing to stoke the fire in the locomotive that is taking us on the fast track to Hades.
