MTG: Trump Officials Discussing Using Nuclear Weapons on Iran
Former GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene claims that the Trump administration is planning to use a nuclear weapon or nuclear weapons against Iran.
In a Sunday X post — the same day Israel-First Fox News talker Mark Levin again slyly suggested using the weapon — Taylor Greene wrote that she had certain knowledge of the plan.
Given that Trump himself has repeatedly threatened to destroy Iranian civilization and bomb it back to the “Stone Ages,” Taylor Greene’s report is not far-fetched.
“Stop This Insanity”
MTG, as she is known, put the news in the first sentence of her 322-word post.
“They are discussing using nuclear weapons on Iran in strategy meetings,” she wrote:
Yes you read that correctly. It’s real. I’m not speculating, I know.
And it’s pure evil.
Taylor Greene did not cite a source for the news, and segued into a short rendition of what the United States did to Japan on August 6 and 9, 1945 at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nagasaki was the center of the Catholic Church in the country.
“Trump and his admin were told by our own intelligence that Iran was no where near creating a nuclear weapon, then Israel said the same line it’s repeated for decades, ‘Iran is only weeks away,’” the former Trump supporter wrote:
So we bombed anyways, killed their leaders and innocent little children in a school, and Iran has controlled the Strait of Hormuz ever since and punished the region for their part in it.
And now our government is the one actually discussing lowering the nuclear threshold in order to use nuclear weapons against Iran even though Trump claims he’s won the war like 40 times and says the U.S. controls the SoH.
Noting that Trump vowed to end U.S foreign wars, Taylor Greene said he might “actually be the one who delivers a nuclear holocaust.” That catastrophe would grow into a global conflict and an ensuing economic collapse that would result in “mass human suffering we’ve never seen in our lifetimes and maybe throughout history.”
“People need to speak out and boldly stop this insanity,” she continued:
America is not untouchable.
If and when that happens, everyone, and I do mean everyone, will hold ALL of those in leadership right now fully responsible for the rest of human history.
Do not use nuclear weapons and stop this war NOW.
Reaction
Far-left podcaster Cenk Uygur of the Young Turks called Taylor Greene a “voice of decency.”
She is “more humane and kind than everyone in national media,” he wrote:
They view it as no big deal and are showing none of this moral outrage….
I appreciate MTG being a voice of decency on this, when there are so few voices left who care about decency or morality. Our press and Democratic leadership should live in shame for not speaking out more forcefully against the evils contemplated by the Trump and Netanyahu administrations, while Trump’s former allies speak with the moral clarity they lack.
Buzz Patterson, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, wasn’t so sanguine.
“As someone who carried the nuclear football, this is the most insane, irresponsible thing I’ve ever seen a ‘public political official’ post on social media,” he wrote.
“She needs to be locked up,” another user wrote:
If she was privy to that discussion she has now proven herself to be a national security risk otherwise she is just making noise for clicks and taps.
Trump’s Comments, Levin’s Latest
Whatever Taylor Greene’s source, Trump himself has alluded to using nuclear weapons, and when podcaster Tucker Carlson pointed to that allusion, Trump exploded.
“We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks,” Trump said on April 1:
We’re going to bring them back to the Stone Ages, where they belong.
On Easter Sunday, Trump warned that he would destroy Iran’s power plants and bridges. “There will be nothing like it!!!” he wrote on Truth Social:
Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.
Two days later, he vowed to wipe out Iranian civilization: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.”
“Desecrating Easter was the first step toward nuclear war,” Carlson wrote on X over a video of his podcast:
Christians need to understand where Trump is taking us.
Carlson also cited Levin’s broadcast when he cited anticipated American war casualties if the U.S. invaded as the reason President Harry Truman ordered the atomic bombings. Levin did everything but call on the president to similarly vaporize Iran.
“Did you hear that? That’s Mark Levin’s counsel to our sitting President, Donald Trump, right now,” Carlson said:
You are looking at a choice between the catastrophic loss of your troops in a ground war or the use of nuclear weapons, which in a sense, if you think about it, just think about it for a second, is actually an act of peace.… The most humane thing you could do is to end this now with nuclear weapons. That’s the case Mark Levin is making to the president, who just last week recommended that all Americans watch Mark Levin’s show…. We’re moving toward the use of weapons of indiscriminate mass destruction, possibly nuclear weapons, but non-conventional weapons. Not bombs dropped from the air or missiles launched from launchers. But the use of weapons that have never been used in war, ever. And the argument is the same argument that you heard in 1945.… But the argument that it’s actually much more humane to kill tens, hundreds of thousands, millions of civilians than it is to … fight it out with the Marine Corps on the rocky shores of mainland Iran.
As The New American reported yesterday, Levin has again suggested that a nuclear weapon might be the only way to defeat Iran. Noting that Iran will never surrender to the United States, Levin said “we’ve been in wars before where we fought enemies that wouldn’t surrender, either.”
And again, Levin brought up Japan:
Remember the kamikazes? Remember Japan? Remember the emperor was like a demigod. The people back then, Tojo, was very stubborn, was very headstrong. And unfortunately we had to drop two atomic bombs until they would surrender.
Levin said the United States will “obviously” not use atomic weapons on Iran.
Now, Taylor Greene reports that Trump officials are discussing it seriously.
