Thomas Massie Under Fire
AT A GLANCE
• Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) does not always vote the way Trump wants him to.
• He voted against Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill.
• He has accrued a 99-percent lifetime score in The New American’s Freedom Index.
• Trump wants him fired and has promised to go to his district to campaign against him.
Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) has a stubborn independent streak and a habit of refusing to vote the party line. The mainstream media see his brand of politics as right-leaning libertarianism, but purists consider him simply a constitutionalist.
Massie has the rare temerity to consistently put principle over party. During his 12-year tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives, he has accrued a 99-percent lifetime score in The New American’s Freedom Index, the highest cumulative score of any member of Congress. And his constituents, among the fortunate few to have a representative in Washington, D.C., who truly believes in limited government and fiscal responsibility, have awarded his fidelity to the supreme law of the land with five reelection victories.
But if President Donald Trump has his way, there won’t be a sixth; he wants Massie fired.
