Snatching Victory: An Interview With Grace’s Dad
AT A GLANCE
• Scott Schara lost a lawsuit over his daughter Grace’s death, despite claims of medical misconduct and an unauthorized DNR.
• Though appeal is unlikely, he says this is by no means the final chapter.
• Schara says laws meant to protect patients failed and believes the medical and legal systems are deeply flawed.
• Though the verdict was disappointing, he sees value in raising public awareness and exposing injustice.
”Are you going to appeal?”
It’s the burning question everyone is asking Scott Schara, whose recent lawsuit over the wrongful “Covid” death of his daughter Grace ended in defeat. Though providers unilaterally labeled this Down syndrome teen with a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order, administered a dangerous combination of drugs to her with only implied consent, and refused even in the face of her family’s desperate pleas to help as she crashed, the jury decided there was no malpractice or negligence involved. Only one juror dissented.
“I was shocked that we didn’t win anything, not even one [of the charges],” he told The New American in an interview following the verdict.
