Russian news agency TASS is reporting that U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) was added to Russia’s list of extremists and terrorists by the Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation, also known as Rosfinmonitoring.

On Sunday, Graham made comments on CBS’s Face the Nation calling for the United States to designate Russia a state sponsor of terrorism, saying, “Why don’t we do this, I just got off the phone with two Democratic senators. Let’s make Russia a state sponsor of terrorism under U.S. law. Let’s make them pay a price for killing Navalny.”

In a video released by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in May 2023, Graham was recorded telling Zelensky, “and the Russians are dying,” followed by stating U.S. funding sent to Ukraine was “the best money we’ve ever spent.”

A Reuters fact check stated the video released by Zelensky’s office was misleading, and reported Graham’s remarks were from different parts of the conversation and selectively edited together.

TASS reported Russia’s Interior Ministry responded to the video released by Zelensky’s office, accusing Graham of making Russophobic remarks, writing “Lindsey Olin Graham, an American citizen, born on July 9, 1955, is wanted under an article of the Russian Criminal Code,” and placed Graham on its wanted list.
