Carlson: NSA Spied On Me and Colleagues. Did Agency Target Other Media?

Fox talker Tucker Carlson has accused the National Security Agency of illegally spying on him and his program.

Speaking on Monday’s program, Carlson — who regularly attacks the radical left and the Biden administration and drives the leftist mainstream media crazy with brutally frank commentary — said an agency “whistleblower” divulged the eavesdropping.

If true, it would mean the agency is most likely spying on other conservative and perhaps some leftist outlets and publications, or even surveilling employees at home.

Big Brother Is Watching

“Yesterday we heard from a whistleblower in the government, who reached out to warn us that the NSA, the National Security Agency, is monitoring our electronic communications and is planning to leak them in an attempt to take the show off the air,” Carlson said:

Now that’s a shocking claim and ordinarily, we’d be skeptical of it. It is illegal for the NSA to spy on American citizens. It’s a crime. It’s not a third-world country. Things like that should not happen in America.

But unfortunately, they do happen and in this case, they did happen.

Carlson said the whistleblower is “in a position to know” about the illegal spying, and “repeated back to us information about a story that we are working on that could have only come directly from my texts and emails.”

Carlson said illegal surveillance is the only explanation for the source’s knowledge about stories Carlson and his staff are preparing for publications. “There’s no other possible source for that information. Period.”

Carlson then explained why the super-secret eavesdropping agency is breaking the law:

The NSA captured that information without our knowledge and did it for political reasons.

The Biden administration is spying on us. We have confirmed that. This morning we filed an FOIA request, a Freedom of Information Act request, asking for all information that the NSA and other agencies have gathered about this show.

We did it mostly as a formality. We’ve also contacted the press office at both the NSA and the FBI. We don’t expect to hear much back. That’s the way it usually goes.

Only Congress can force transparency on the intelligence agencies and they should do that immediately.

Spying on opposition journalists is incompatible with democracy. If they are doing it to us, and again they are definitely doing it to us, they are almost certainly doing it to others.

This is scary and we need to stop it right away.

2013 Scandal

When the leftist media and their masters inside the Deep State Biden Regime begin peddling the lie that Carlson is retailing a “debunked conspiracy theory” — the go-to claim when a conservative unveils an uncomfortable or damning truth — they’ll expect Americans to forget that the NSA has been spying on Americans for 50 years.

James Bamford, author of the Puzzle Palace, his book about the agency, told the famous Church Committee in 1975 that the NSA illegally eavesdropped on Americans.

Nothing had changed, apparently, three decades later.

In 2013, NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden leaked thousands of NSA documents to Glenn Greenwald and other journalists that divulged the agency’s extensive illegal surveillance of Americans by vacuuming phone calls and Internet traffic.

In other words, the NSA won’t hesitate to do the bidding of the Deep State.

“The ultimate goal of the NSA, along with its most loyal, one might say subservient junior partner the British agency GCHQ — when it comes to the reason why the system of suspicion of surveillance is being built and the objective of this system — is nothing less than the elimination of individual privacy worldwide,” Greenwald said after he published Snowden’s documents and story.

As for Carlson’s charge, the agency has been silent, media reports say.
