Macron Calls Comments About Riots “Stupid”; Trump Says Democratic Victory on Nov. 3 Means Riots Here
French President Emmanuel Macron is mad — very mad — because U.S. President Donald Trump and Republicans have uttered “stupid” remarks about the riots that left French cities burning while Macron was haggling with Middle East potentates for energy deals.
The riots that engulfed the nation and resulted in curfews in major cities have put flood lights on the Macron government’s weakness in dealing with “student” riots and “unrest” over high prices.
Thus has Trump been warning all week on Truth Social and at rallies that a Democratic victory in November’s midterm elections might well portend similar riots and burning cities in the United States. So also with other Republicans, including Vice President JD Vance.
Republican Remarks
On Truth Social, Trump hit the “migrant” angle hard.
“The migrants have taken over France,” he wrote on October 19 at 7:17 a.m.:
They must CLOSE THE BORDERS, FAST!
An hour later, he continued:
France is burning! The immigration of people from an entirely different world, people with hatred in their hearts, has shattered that once great country. Close your Borders and take control, before it is too late!
Later that day, he warned that a Democratic victory on November 3 might end in similar riots here, and the next day, he vowed to spend $400 million to stop what many believe will be a blue wave that ends in Democratic control of Capitol Hill.
“If you want to see what is at stake in this Election, just look at what is happening in France — A once-great nation that is being conquered, looted, and burned to the ground by migrants, jihadists, and Communists who hate Christianity, and Western Civilization, itself,” Trump wrote:
As we are seeing in Europe, Globalist Leftwing Politicians have treasonously imported millions of Third World Migrants who are totally incompatible with Western Values, and despise everything that makes France great. They have surrendered their country to vandals who could have never built it themselves, and who refuse to assimilate into their society, but only want to enter the welfare state paid for by hardworking citizens of France, while desecrating the culture that makes it all possible. Europe has to CLOSE THEIR BORDERS, and get out the people who hate their countries, and get them out FAST, before it is too late! These people do not love France, or these other countries under attack. They don’t love the people, they don’t love the art, they don’t love the architecture or the buildings, they don’t love anything that surrounds them. They have no passion for where they are, and they never will and, as I told President Macron when I first met him many years ago, CLOSE YOUR BORDER or, it will be the end of France.
When you see burning steeples and raging fires in France, just remember, THAT is what the Radical Dumocrats want to do to AMERICA.
Vance delivered the same message, complete with a photo of the collapsing belfry of the city hall in Limoges, as did GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson (La.).
“Western liberals imported the third world into France and other countries in the name of diversity and compassion,” Vance wrote:
They ignored fundamental questions of assimilation and compatibility. They were told it would lead to this and they didn’t listen. …
This is the future congressional Democrats seek for your country.
Over video of the mayhem, Johnson warned of the coming Marxist revolution.
“France is descending into chaos because they wanted OPEN BORDERS — just like the socialist Democrats in America,” he wrote, which is what will happen here “if the radical Marxist insurgent left gets their way.”
“If Democrats take back control, it will be open borders and criminal illegals overrunning our country, many of whom want to destroy it,” he concluded.
Macron Replies
Angry Macron, who watched his country burn from afar in Qatar and other nations, said the riots have been subject to “foreign manipulation of information in the aftermath” of the mayhem in Paris and elsewhere, as ABC News reported.
“And that has led to comments that are as unacceptable as they are stupid, from many people, including foreign leaders,” Macron huffed, telling a reporter that he included Trump among those “foreign leaders.”
“AI-generated images [depicted] scenes that never actually happened in France,” he said:
We’ve had people claiming that we were invaded by hordes of migrants and Islamists, which is completely false.
That isn’t false. Video of the riots clearly shows that “migrants” seem to be a significant portion of the “students” leading the protests.
“The fact is, all the people who are speaking ill of our country right now are people who don’t love our country,” Macron whined. “So those people really bother me.”
More “marching” is scheduled for this weekend.
“France’s main student union, UNEF, has called for further rallies on Saturday, while the Yellow Vest group, which emerged as a potent anti-establishment movement in 2018, has filed plans for a march through central Paris the same day,” Reuters reported:
Efforts to ease social tensions showed little sign of progress, as unions pledged to press ahead with a general strike on November 5 to denounce the high cost of living and cuts to public services after government talks ended inconclusively.
Macron was supposed to meet with security officials today to discuss scheduled riots this weekend, the wire service continued.
“Those who want to cause disorder in city centres next Saturday will be prevented from doing so,” he told reporters in Qatar.
He received commitments from Bahrain and United Arab Emirates to deliver 100,000 additional tons of diesel fuel monthly. Saudi Arabia committed to another 95,000 tons monthly.
