What a Cult Researcher Saw at Burning Man — and How Christians Should Respond

Burning Man, a New Age event of 70,000 in the desert of Nevada, pushes the occult, sexual depravity, and false spirituality, explains Mitch Cunico, host of Cult Audit, to The New American’s Alex Newman on the ground at the event. But despite the evil, Christians should get engaged and speak the Truth to the lost who are there. 
At the heart of the Burning Man playa (what so-called Burners title the desert plain) is a wooden temple. There, people from across the world place photographs of deceased loved ones, old wedding dresses, dog collars, and even political materials to watch it go up in flames. Cunico explains that this ritual is a coping mechanism to handle loss and grief, but it is ultimately misplaced.
Cunico, a board member of the Bible Vaccine Center, attended Burning Man to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. He explained to Newman that instead of merely condemning the entire gathering, believers in Christ should recognize the lostness, meet needs, and share the Truth.
