There is much more to Thanksgiving than eating turkey and watching football. First and foremost, Thanksgiving is giving thanks to God. This understanding, once widespread, needs to be rekindled into a burning flame in our hearts and minds. As George Washington wisely observed in his Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789,” “it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor.”

In this Thanksgiving Day episode of The New American Daily, Gary Benoit and Selwyn Duke discuss the real meaning of Thanksgiving, the first Thanksgiving celebrated by the Pilgrims, and the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us.
