Congress Can Fix Birthright Citizenship Idiocy Without Constitutional Amendment
One of the Supreme Court justices explained that Congress could probably fix the “birthright citizenship” fiasco with legislation, rather than requiring a constitutional amendment, explained longtime law professor Col. John Eidsmoe (ret) in this interview on Conversations That Matter.
Eidsmoe, who also serves as a pastor, explained that parts of the U.S. Constitution remain in force. But if America hopes to survive as a free nation, a return to biblical principles and sound constitutional jurisprudence will be essential.
In particular, Eidsmoe pointed to several clauses of the U.S. Constitution that have been deliberately misinterpreted and misapplied. These include the “general welfare” clause, the interstate commerce clause, and more. But it’s not too late to turn it around.
