“MooMoo Reverend Rainbow” at Burning Man: SF Chaplain Dubs Pagan Festival “Sacred”
Wearing a “gay card” around his neck, “MooMoo Reverend Rainbow” runs the “Religious As F**k” camp at Burning Man, an annual New Age gathering of 70,000 people in the Black Rock Desert of Nevada.
While on the ground covering the event, The New American’s Alex Newman sat down with the “reverend,” who works for the San Francisco Night Ministry as chaplain, to uncover what MooMoo sees as the spiritual significance of the pagan New Age event.
From offering spiritual devotions, two Eucharist services, and a playa (desert) Ash Wednesday, Reverend Rainbow believes Burning Man is the ultimate spiritual experience, where individuals can experience inner transformation.
“I hope that some of the cultural values that people discover here at Burning Man begin to influence their lives beyond the playa,” MooMoo said, hoping that decision makers in politics “better serve the world.”
