On July 10, 2024, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 8281, deceptively named the “SAVE Act,” under the pretext of protecting U.S. elections by preventing non-citizens from voting. Proposed by Representative Chip Roy of Texas, the bill aims to amend the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 by requiring documentary proof of citizenship to register for federal elections.

While this might seem like a sensible measure on the surface, a deeper analysis reveals dangerous implications caused by the ways in which the SAVE Act would accomplish these goals. Under the guise of enhancing election integrity, the SAVE Act introduces provisions that could lead to widespread voter suppression, imposing unnecessary hurdles on law-abiding citizens exercising their right to vote. This analysis will expose the hidden dangers within the bill, revealing it as a perilous step toward disenfranchising vulnerable communities rather than a solution to any real problem.

The Definition of Citizenship: Misunderstanding the 14th Amendment

Contrary to the bill’s presumptions, Section 1 of the 14th Amendment does not grant citizenship to everyone born on U.S. soil. When the amendment was debated, Congress specifically excluded certain groups, such as American Indians, who were then under the jurisdiction of their tribal nations. Similarly, the children of foreign diplomats born in the United States are not automatically citizens because they remain under their parents’ national jurisdiction.

The same principle applies to children born to individuals who entered the country illegally. These children do not fall under U.S. jurisdiction as intended by the framers of the 14th Amendment. Thus, constitutionally, neither the parents nor their children should be considered citizens, and both can lawfully be deported.

However, the SAVE Act undermines this constitutional understanding by broadly declaring that anyone born on U.S. soil is a citizen, regardless of his parents’ legal status. This provision could grant voting rights to the children of millions of illegal immigrants. In fact, under this flawed interpretation, even the children of foreign diplomats could claim U.S. citizenship and vote in federal elections, as well as in their parents’ country of origin.

Expanding Foreign Influence on U.S. Elections

Instead of safeguarding elections, the SAVE Act paves the way for foreign influence by extending citizenship — and, by extension, voting rights — to the children of those who have entered the United States illegally. This would include the children of individuals from hostile nations such as China or countries influenced by radical ideologies. In doing so, the Act threatens to allow non-citizens and their progeny to influence American elections.

It is possible that many supporters of the SAVE Act are unaware of its true implications, but those who drafted the legislation likely understand its full impact. The bill flies in the face of the 14th Amendment’s original intent, as articulated by Senator Jacob Howard, who clarified that the amendment’s citizenship clause would not include foreigners or aliens born on U.S. soil. The SAVE Act, therefore, represents a direct legislative assault on the amendment, undermining both national sovereignty and electoral integrity.

Documentary Proof to Vote: Burdening Law-abiding Citizens

One of the most troubling aspects of the SAVE Act is its requirement for documentary proof of citizenship, disproportionately affecting women who have changed their names due to marriage. Navigating this bureaucratic maze would resemble the invasive and unnecessary process of obtaining a REAL ID. Such provisions penalize American citizens under the guise of protecting national security while subtly advancing a more insidious agenda: the promotion of the REAL ID system.

The Real ID: A Tool for Control, Not Security

Originally enacted after 9/11 to enhance security, the REAL ID Act has since devolved into a tool for government surveillance, undermining the rights of citizens while making it easier for illegal entrants to gain access to essential services. The push for REAL ID, to be fully implemented by May 2025, is less about security and more about control, with the potential to morph into a national digital ID system that could govern every aspect of life, from healthcare to travel.

Burdening Citizens, Ignoring the Real Problem

The SAVE Act’s requirement for proof of citizenship applies not only to new voters but also to already-registered voters who need to update their information due to a name change or a move. This particularly impacts married women, who will face yet another bureaucratic ordeal similar to that of the REAL ID process.

Rather than addressing illegal immigration and fraudulent voting, the SAVE Act imposes unnecessary burdens on American citizens while expanding the voter base to include those who are not, and were never intended to be, U.S. citizens.

The Hidden Agenda

The true goal of the SAVE Act is not to protect U.S. elections but to align with the broader globalist agenda of eroding national sovereignty through legislative deception. By forcing American citizens to jump through hoops to prove their right to vote, while simultaneously granting voting rights to children of illegal immigrants and foreign diplomats, the SAVE Act advances a globalist agenda that seeks to consolidate power and control over the American populace.

Conclusion

The SAVE Act is a dangerous assault on both the Constitution and the integrity of American citizenship. Masquerading as electoral reform, it is a Trojan horse for disenfranchisement and globalist control. American citizens must demand that the Senate reject this legislation. As Thomas Jefferson warned in 1814, “Our government is now taking so steady a course as to show by what road it will pass to destruction; to wit: by consolidation first and then corruption, its necessary consequence.” The SAVE Act is yet another step toward this destruction, and we must not allow it to proceed.
