Yesterday afternoon, the House GOP, in an embarrassing debacle, failed to impeach rogue Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

In the end, four representatives voted against the measure — Ken Buck of Colorado, Mike Gallagher of Wisconsin, Tom McClintock of California, and, in a procedural vote change to ensure the measure remains open for a possible do-over, Blake Moore of Utah. Gallagher, who, according to reports, had evinced skepticism about the measure, had not disclosed which way he intended to vote. Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, was not present, and would have been the deciding vote in favor of impeachment had he been.

So, as with the censure of Representative Adam Schiff, which took more than one vote to pass, the impeachment saga may not yet be over; Mike Johnson is promising to hold another vote as soon as the outcome is assured.

Meanwhile, Democrats and their media allies are jubilant. The Democrats, united under Biden as never before, voted unanimously against the measure after exhausting hours of debate accusing Republicans of cynical partisanship — something congressional Dems certainly know a thing or two about.

And as usual, the American people are left holding the bag — the one full of fentanyl poisoning, illegal immigrants, and terrorist infiltrators, and a severely disfigured demographic and electoral landscape.
