United Nations Day: 81 Years of Shame
Tomorrow (October 24) is United Nations Day, the 81st anniversary of the UN Charter’s entry into force.
The U.S. president has commemorated UN Day nearly every year since 1948. Last year, President Donald Trump did not issue a proclamation, making 2025 the sole exception. On Saturday, we will find out whether this marks a new trend or is merely an aberration.
Antithetical to Our Founding Principles
Despite the presidents’ long-standing recognition of UN Day, the United Nations — founded to serve as a nascent one-world government — is antithetical to the American system of government. For example, although the U.S. Declaration of Independence acknowledges that rights are God-given and unalienable, the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights treats rights as being created by government, limitable “by law,” and subordinate to “the purposes and principles of the United Nations.” Additionally, Article 25 of the UN Charter requires UN member states to “accept and carry out the decisions of the [UN] Security Council,” directly conflicting with Article VI of the U.S. Constitution, which affirms that the Constitution — not treaties or international edicts — is “the supreme Law of the Land.”
Additionally, the UN promotes policies antithetical to America’s founding principles, including those on immigration, law enforcement, climate change, reparations, organized labor, taxes, education, homeschooling, global censorship, abortion, and even maps. There is no reason for the United States to remain a member of an organization so opposed to Americanism and limited government.
Get US Out! of the UN
“Celebrate” UN “Day of Shame” by urging your U.S. representative and senators to support the Disengaging Entirely From the United Nations Debacle (DEFUND) Act (H.R. 1498 and S. 669), which would fully withdraw the United States from the UN, and by getting the word out to others in your community.
