Biden Sends Another Nearly $6B to Ukraine

When President Donald Trump said he wished to build a wall along the southwest border, open-borders Democrat and then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it was not only “immoral” and “ineffective,” but also too “expensive.”

So too did other Democrats.

But here’s what Democrats and globalist Republicans don’t think is too expensive: Continuing to pump billions of tax dollars into Ukraine’s fruitless, losing war against Russia, which is not only a waste of money but risks starting World War III.

Thus has the Biden administration released another $5.9 billion to prop up the corrupt regime of Ukraine dictator Volodomyr Zelensky.

Total since 2022, when Russia invaded its former satellite: $175 billion. That figure is considerably more than a wall would have cost.

Latest Package

Biden announced that he was “proud” to give Ukraine another $2.5 billion of American tax money:

Since Russia launched its further assault against Ukraine in February 2022, the United States has rallied the world to stand with the Ukrainian people, and it has been a top priority of mine to provide Ukraine with the support it needs to prevail. Today’s announcement — which includes an additional $1.25 billion drawdown package for the Ukrainian military and a $1.22 billion Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) package — builds on this effort and will provide Ukraine with both an immediate influx of capabilities that it continues to use to great effect on the battlefield and longer-term supplies of air defense, artillery, and other critical weapons systems.

Biden didn’t include in that figure the real total, however.

At the Treasury Department, Secretary Janet Yellen — another far-left Democrat for whom money is no object — announced that she would shovel $3.4 billion into Ukraine’s coffers in “direct budget support.”

The $3.4 billion is the last disbursement to the corrupt Zelensky regime from this year’s $95 billion foreign-aid package.

“Ukraine’s success is in America’s core national interest,” Yellin said:

Stopping Russia’s illegal invasion will help uphold a global democratic, rules-based, order that advances American security and economic interests, and it will send an unmistakable message to autocrats and would-be aggressors around the world that they will face unshakeable resolve. We must not retreat in this effort.

The $95 billion included $61 billion in military and economic aid for Zelensky and his gang and $17 billion in military aid for Israel, along with another $9.5 billion in “humanitarian aid” for the residents of Gaza, Ukraine, and other war zones,  and $2 billion for Taiwan.

As The New American reported in October, the per capita aid to Ukraine is $4,605.

“It has been a top priority of mine to provide Ukraine with the support it needs to prevail,” Biden said.

Ukraine will not “prevail,” but anyway, part of Biden’s hare-brained scheme for Ukraine to “prevail” was permitting it to fire American long-range missiles into Russia.

As Russian President Vladimir Putin promised, Russia counterattacked with a medium-range ballistic missile fitted with non-explosive test warheads.

Money for Ukraine, but Not for Border Wall

While Democrats believe the American taxpayer has an endless supply of money to keep dictator Zelensky in power, they don’t believe in spending a dime on a border wall.

Just after Trump was elected in 2016 and unveiled plans to build a border wall, far-left academics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology reported that the wall would cost $38 billion, far more than Trump’s estimate of $12 billion.

“Fat chance,” the eggheads wrote of spending such a pittance on the wall.

And during the hostile debate over funding for the wall, Pelosi said it was too expensive on multiple occasions.

Trump’s “attempt to bully taxpayers into funding his immoral & expensive border wall is completely unacceptable,” she wrote in August 2017.

On December 6, 2018, she said funding for Trump’s “immoral, ineffective, expensive” border wall is off the table. “Democrats are for real border security solutions,” she wrote on X on December 20, same year:

Not for wasting billions of taxpayer dollars on an immoral, ineffective & expensive wall.

Yet thanks to Biden, open-borders Democrats, and globalist Republicans, Americans have spent $137 billion more defending Ukraine’s border than they would have spent defending the border of the United States.

Biden’s Wall Sale Blocked

As for the wall itself, until recently, the Biden administration was selling wall materials at fire sale prices to stop President-elect Trump from using them when he took office in January.

The New York Post uncovered the illegal sales in August. Just weeks ago, the Daily Wire video-recorded trucks that were hauling wall sections.

Four days ago, pursuant to a court motion on December 17 by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey, the administration agreed to stop selling the wall materials.

“Additionally, the court stated that Texas is entitled to documentation proving that the Biden Administration has not violated an injunction secured by Attorney General Paxton in May of 2024 that required the Biden Administration to spend statutorily obligated funds on border wall construction after the federal government attempted to illegally redirect the money,” Paxton’s office said:

If it is shown that the Biden Administration disposed of border wall materials purchased with funds subject to that injunction in violation of a court order — or that the Department of Justice made misrepresentations regarding the border materials that have been auctioned off — this would constitute unethical and sanctionable conduct, and the responsible parties could be held in contempt of court.
