One fully vaccinated elected official after another is testing positive for the China virus. The Omicron variant is proving to be more like a common cold. And President Biden is again warning that those unvaccinated for the Virus are in trouble this winter, and the fully vaxxed can rest easy.
Though Biden’s message yesterday wasn’t as alarmist as one he sent last week, the upshot was the same. If you aren’t vaccinated against the Asiatic microbe, rough sledding is ahead this winter.
Biden also outlined a program to combat Omicron. The blueprint will offer “free” tests and vaccines. Biden didn’t bother explaining that someone must pay for the freebies — the American taxpayer.
All in all, even if he didn’t attempt to terrify the unvaccinated with visions of the Black Death, the speech was a failure. It was just another announcement of just another massive government program. And one more pitch to help enrich Big Pharma’s profiteers.
Empty Chair
Biden started by “acknowledging how tired, worried, and frustrated I know you are,” and that “I know how you’re feeling.”
In fact, if “tired, worried, and frustrated” about anything, it’s the government’s constant, intrusive hectoring. Beyond that, sane Americans largely ignore the alarmist nonsense coming from Biden, his octogenarian Virus advisor Anthony Fauci, and their subalterns.
Nor will this “be the first or even the second Christmas where you look — across the table will be an empty kitchen chair there,” as Biden claimed, and they haven’t “experienced an upheaval in our lives.” Most Americans have gone about their business quite happily ever since the costly and imprudent government lockdowns ended.
That truth aside, then came the Big Lie about Omicron, which appears to be no more dangerous than a cold:
First, how concerned should you be about Omicron, which is now the dominant variant in this country and it happened so quickly?
The answer is straightforward: If you are not fully vaccinated, you have good reason to be concerned. You’re at a high risk of getting sick. And if you get sick, you’re likely to spread it to others, including friends and family. And the unvaccinated have a significantly higher risk of ending up in a hospital or even dying.
Almost everyone who has died from COVID-19 in the past many months has been unvaccinated. Unvaccinated.
Biden didn’t mention what mortality data from states such as New York show. The Virus almost always kills the old, the fat, and the sick. Obesity and multiple comorbidities are the major contributing factors to the Oriental bug’s lethality.
Nor did Biden discuss the danger of the experimental vaccines. Young pro athletes are dropping like flies.
After peddling vaccines on behalf of Big Pharma — which is banking Ben Franklins as fast the Treasury can print them — Biden allowed that “some Americans are wondering if you can safely celebrate the holidays with your family and friends.” Those Americans will be glad to know Sleepy Joe said they can enjoy Christmas:
The answer is yes, you can, if you and those you celebrate with are vaccinated, particularly if you’ve gotten your booster shot.
If you are vaccinated and follow the precautions that we all know well, you should feel comfortable celebrating Christmas and the holidays as you planned it.
You know, you’ve done the right thing. You could enjoy the holiday season.
What unvaxxed Americans might do, Biden did not venture to discuss.
Then came the appeal for boosters:
Another question folks are asking is: What can you do to make yourself and your family feel safer and be safer? The answer is simple: Get your booster shot. Wear a mask.
Our doctors have made it clear: Booster shots provide the strongest of protections. Unfortunately, we still have tens of millions of people who are eligible for the booster shot who have not yet gotten it. They’ve gotten the first two shots, but they’ve not gotten the booster.
Folks, the booster shots are free and widely available. Over 60 million Americans, including 62 percent of eligible seniors, our most vulnerable group, have gotten their booster shots.
I got my booster shot as soon as they were available. And just the other day, former President Trump announced he had gotten his booster shot. It may be one of the few things he and I agree on.
People with booster shots are highly protected. Join them. Join us.
And unboosted Americans? Presumably, they won’t be “highly protected.” But neither will they be tagged members of Biden’s Branch Covidian cult.
War Against Omicron
Biden also announced a full-scale war against Omicron, the main symptoms of which are fatigue, headache, sniffles, and a sore throat — the things Americans treat with Nyquil, Mucinex, and Dimetapp.
Main message: Everything Biden and his Virus Fighters will do is “free.” Those measures include the following, a fact sheet from Branch Covidian Headquarters says:
- “Increased support for hospitals … to ensure states and health systems across the country have the personnel, beds, and supplies they need as they battle rising Omicron hospitalizations, mostly among the unvaccinated”;
- Sending 1,000 troops to “to COVID-burdened hospitals” and “deploying federal medical personnel available to states immediately”;
- Sending in “FEMA response teams to help states and hospitals add capacity now”;
- “Providing ongoing support to states to help hospitals create and license more beds”;
- “Deploying hundreds of ambulances and emergency medical teams to transport patients to open beds” to “get ahead of surges”;
- “Pre-positioning critical supplies from the Strategic National Stockpile,” including “hundreds of millions of N-95 masks, billions of gloves, tens of millions of gowns, and over 100,000 ventilators — all ready to ship out if and when states need them”;
- “Deploying ventilators to states”;
- Starting “new federal testing sites” and “distributing free, rapid tests to Americans.” Total: 500 million “to be distributed [and delivered] for free to Americans who want them, with the initial delivery starting in January 2022”; and
- More “capacity to get shots in arms” and “pop-up vaccination clinics.”
Unvaxxed Americans can thank Biden for one thing. He spared them the histrionics about a “winter of death.”
