Flynn Slams Radio Talker Who Wants Iran’s “Complete Annihilation”
Yet another Israel First radio bloviator, who has never served in the military and never will, has called for all out war in Iran, only to be slammed by Retired General Michael Flynn.
Sid Rosenberg of New York City’s Sid and Friends in the Morning appeared on Fox & Friends Weekend on July 25 to offer his considered opinion — based on his vast geostrategic knowledge and experience in military planning — to say President Trump must stage a “massive all-out attack” on Iran. The war can end only with “complete annihilation.”
Retired America First Army General Flynn explained on X that Rosenberg is clueless.
Rosenberg’s recipe for continued disaster for America followed that of another geostrategic mastermind, Daily Wire tycoon Ben Shapiro.
“Complete Annihilation”
Under questioning from an equally brilliant geostrategic thinker, former MTV star Rachel Campos-Duffy, Rosenberg allowed that while Trump doesn’t want to hurt anyone, he has no other choice.
“It is inevitable that President Trump is going to have to do what he doesn’t want to do, which is going with this massive all-out attack.” Rosenberg explained:
There’s no other way to stop this. There’s no other way to win this war. So, again, he’s trying to do the best he can. He’s a very nice man. I love President Trump. He doesn’t want people to die. He really doesn’t. OK. He’s a nice man. But there’s no other way to end this.… Midnight Hammer was great, Epic Fury was great. Once you start this, there needs to be a finish. And the only finish is complete surrender by the Iranians. I hate to say it, but complete annihilation.
Campos-Duffy allowed that she adores President Trump and said he really believes in peace. But what do you say to Americans who oppose the war, and what if winning the war “requires boots on the ground.… That’s not very popular with the American people.”
Rosenberg answered with empathy. He understands the sentiment, but alas, dying in a foreign land for Israel is why the American fighting man joined the military. He knew what he “signed up for.”
“It’s not popular with me, either,” he said, noting that he doesn’t have a son in the Army or Marines. But he is “very sensitive to that.”
“We have the Army, we have Marines for a reason,” he continued:
They’re not there to shake your hand at the airport.… [W]e don’t have a draft in this country. So these courageous men and women know exactly what they’re signing up for. This is war. We don’t want to see anybody die, but this is war, a war that started 47 years ago that they started.
Rosenberg doesn’t want young Americans to die, but “we gotta win,” albeit without his contribution to the war effort. The United States might win the war without boots on the ground, he said. But if not, “that’s why they signed up, to fight for this country, to fight for President Trump, and to rid the world of evil animals like the Iranian regime.”
Regime change and annihilation are Rosenberg’s bottom line.
Flynn Responds
Flynn explained that Rosenberg, like most Israel First neoconservative chickenhawks, knows nothing about military strategy or tactics. Flynn warned that the war Rosenberg advocates will involve more than Iran.
“This gentlemen has no idea what he’s talking about nor how monumentally challenging an all out war against an alliance of Iran, China, Russia, Pakistan, North Korea (all nuclear armed nations) and other loosely aligned nations and ideologies would be,” Flynn wrote:
He also has zero idea about the readiness, preparation, scalability or resourcing required that our military is at this time.
Nor does Rosenberg understand that the military is not supposed to fight without the consent of Americans and their representatives in Congress.
Flynn appealed to Trump to ignore Rosenberg. “I know you are influenced by what you see on Fox News,” Flynn wrote:
Please tread carefully with statements that this man, who seems to be a friend of yours, is making. He is asking the nation to go to war against Iran when the majority of people in your base and in the country want nothing to do with fighting a war of someone else’s choosing.
Never forget that War is a failure of policy and the decision to go to War is a failure of the political system and not our military nor its ability and capability to execute any and all missions tasked.
This is very dangerous talk!
Trust your instincts and FIGHT FOR PEACE!
Shapiro: Let’s Go Get ’Em
Yakking from the safety of his podcast studio last week, Shapiro — 42 years old and still of military enlistment age — said defeating Iran means Americans must accept mass casualties.
“There’s this bizarre notion in foreign policy that the American people are deeply worried about the immediate cost of war to the enemy, that the American people, we can’t handle the ugliness of war for even a day, that every conflict has to be totally antiseptic,” Shapiro said:
And here I’m not even talking about the American willingness to undergo casualties. No one in America wants American casualties, it’s a tragedy and a horror. We do understand that war does come along with casualties, and we are willing to undergo those casualties in pursuit of an end and a victory for America. But as far as the idea that, for example, America, we can’t hit Kharg Island because the Iranian people would then be deprived of oil resources, the American people are, I should say, not particularly concerned about that.
Americans are concerned. A majority opposes the war.
Podcaster Tucker Carlson noted that Shapiro will duck into the bushes because he has “no interest in making any kind of personal sacrifice.”
Shapiro called that truthful observation “goyslop.”
