Teachers’ Association Ousts Scientific Method

Say goodbye to the scientific method in America’s classrooms. A national teachers’ group is censoring climate science that doesn’t conform to the myth of man-made global warming.

Late last month the National Science Teaching Association (NSTA) kicked a group known as The CO2 Coalition out of its annual convention in Atlanta, Georgia.

The CO2 Coalition is an educational foundation that bills itself as “the nation’s leading organization providing facts, resources and information about the vital role that carbon dioxide plays in our environment.”

Once they were ousted, here’s what the coalition posted on Facebook: “Well, that didn’t take long! We got booted by the National Science Teachers Association Annual meeting for disseminating unapproved science. We called them out for censorship, and they confirmed it.”

When they tried to boost the Facebook post, they hit yet another wall. The social-media site claimed their message violated its advertising policies.

One of them even caught the moment on video. Here’s geologist and CO2 Coalition executive director Gregory Wrightstone talking with Ryan Foley, NSTA’s Chief Operating Officer:

What offensive material was on display? The CO2 Coalition had posted information in its booth that said science is determined by experimentation and testing, never by popular consensus. They also pointed out that long before people used fossil fuels, Earth’s temperatures fluctuated to much greater extremes than we experience today.

Established in 2015, the coalition’s members are scientists and doctors dedicated to exposing the limitations of climate models and the adverse consequences of mandated reductions in carbon dioxide emissions.

On the other hand, NSTA — which claims a commitment to “best practices in teaching science” — displays a position statement on its website that reads: “A scientific consensus indicates that Earth’s climate is changing, largely due to human-induced increases in the concentrations of heat-absorbing gases.”

Wrightstone told Wyoming’s Cowboy State Daily that prior to their expulsion, his group sold out of its lesson plans within two hours. He said the overwhelming response from attendees was positive. Teachers expressed their agreement with the coalition but told him they didn’t dare go against the global-warming narrative in the classroom for fear of being fired.
