Truth: The Pillars of Civilization

The struggle of humanity has always been one of good versus evil, beginning with a spiritual war. The Bible’s books of Ezekiel and Isaiah detail the creation and character of Lucifer. Ezekiel 28:17 partially reads, “Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor.”

Isaiah 14:13-15 declares, “You said in your heart, ‘I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high; I will sit on the mount of assembly in the far reaches of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.’ But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit.”

Lucifer was created as a perfect angel but corrupted himself through pride, started a war in Heaven to overthrow God, and was thrown down to Earth along with those angels that took part in the rebellion. The book of Genesis records what Lucifer, now called Satan after his fall, did to corrupt mankind, introducing sin, death, disease, and a hard life of toiling and pain. All of this based on pride — thinking, planning, and scheming that a created being could ascend higher than the Creator.
