Letters To The Editor
Mask Mayhem
Many thanks to Dennis Behreandt for his well-researched article appearing in the October 19, 2020 issue of The New American concerning the results of lockdown mandates.
In his section on “Destroying Life,” he quotes, in part, findings from Belgian doctors’ open letter: “The current crisis management has become totally disproportionate and causes more damage than it does any good.” Because of this state of affairs, the doctors’ letter (not quoted in the article) goes on to “call for an end to all measures and ask for an immediate restoration of our normal democratic governance and legal structures and of all our civil liberties.” Amen to that.
The section of the doctors’ letter that I found most unsettling was the section dealing with masks and the imposition of mask-wearing, another form of lockdown, or rather “lock out,” of good clean air. The findings in this regard are quite disturbing, especially for those employees who are now being forced to wear cloth masks all day, such as those who service the public. For example, masks are required for people who work in restaurants, post offices, grocery stores, and the like.
