Making Up Hate

Christian Gomez’s April 8 piece on hate hoaxes kept impressively detailed score of the “pseudo-crimes” perpetrated across the country by the Left. These hoaxes pile up fast because they make leftist activists feel relevant — there’s a crusade to wage, after all.

In a sense, these leftists are victims of their own sociopolitical hegemony — most regular Americans are so cowed by “political correctness” that transgressions must be manufactured in order to keep the donations rolling in and the “diversity seminars” staffed.

Questioning the veracity of these “crimes” is considered taboo, lest someone feel that their “lived experience” has not been treated with proper deference. Indeed, the Left’s claims regarding “hate crimes” are inherently non-falsifiable, since the definition of hate, or the myriad accompanying buzzwords ending in “-ist” or “-phobe,” lacks any specificity or stability.
