Letters to the Editor

Long-lived Left-wing Professionals

Being almost 90 years old and a John Birch Society member for almost 50 years, I’ve never read a scarier article than Alex Newman’s report on the federal government’s Senior Executive Service (SES), senior government workers who not only execute policy but often, essentially, make policy (“They Decide What Government Does,” June 4, 2018 issue).

If the SES is not the framework of the dark black Deep State, what is it? I’d never heard of the SES before your report. With a count of 7,000 to 9,000 appointees, unelected, without term limits (and at a staggering cost of “around $200,000 plus bonuses” per year, each) how can the voting public hope to control our Republic and its future?

We, the American people, need to eliminate this, and the unaccountable waste, now.
