Brave Cops Prevent Tragedy

In Macomb County, Michigan, a quick-thinking sheriff’s deputy came to the rescue of a 63-year-old man who found himself in a potentially dangerous situation, ABC7 reported on September 19. Deputy Nicole Miron, along with her partner, Deputy Anthony Gross, spotted a truck moving erratically, albeit slowly, along a busy road. The truck was swerving and hitting curbs, and when they tried to pull the driver over, he continued to move at a very slow pace, around five miles per hour.

When the deputies pulled up beside the vehicle, they noticed the man behind the wheel seemed disoriented and unresponsive. Recognizing something was wrong, Miron knew she had to act fast. As the truck continued its slow journey down the road, Miron made a brave decision. In what looked like a scene from an action movie, she climbed from her patrol car, driven by Gross, and leaped onto the moving truck, reaching through the window to help the driver.

“Are you okay? Is the truck in park?” Miron asked, realizing the man was suffering from a medical emergency. Thanks to her quick response, she was able to bring the vehicle to a stop before it reached a busy intersection, avoiding what could have been a serious accident.
