The Goodness of America

Bella’s Boxes

Nine-year-old Bella Smith of London, Kentucky, has taken it upon herself to ensure that all of her fellow classmates at Wyan-Pine Grove Elementary School have a special birthday.

It all started two years ago when one of Bella’s classmates told her that he would not be having a birthday party because his parents could not afford one, People.com reported.

“The school she attends is a Title I school, which means 80 percent of the population here is impoverished,” said Marlana Evans, Bella’s mother, who also teaches at Bella’s school. “So we have students that struggle with a lot of things.”
