States Push Back Against the UN
It seems as though every week a new attack on our country’s founding values begins. From attacks on our financial freedom via a central bank digital currency to relentless assaults on our sovereignty by globalist organizations, those plotting to impose global tyranny find new avenues to further their diabolical agenda. Will our Republic succumb to these onslaughts and slide further toward unconstitutional government, moral decline, and globalism, or will it hold fast and return to following the Constitution and America’s founding principles?
Thankfully, in this battle over the future of our constitutional Republic, defenders of liberty have a powerful weapon: federalism. Under the American system of government, the states are sovereign, and retain all powers not specifically granted to the federal government. As James Madison wrote in The Federalist, No. 45, federal powers under the Constitution are “few and defined,” while state powers are “numerous and indefinite.” And Article VI of the Constitution declares that all laws “shall be made in Pursuance thereof,” and requires that state officials take an oath “to support this Constitution.” Accordingly, state governments have a duty and the authority to enforce the Constitution, even in the face of efforts to usurp it.
Some states are beginning to do just that — and one area they are addressing is attacks on American independence by international organizations such as the United Nations and World Health Organization (WHO). These globalist bodies represent an existential threat to a free and sovereign United States, and in recent years they have intensified their efforts to expand their power. From the WHO’s proposed pandemic treaty to the International Maritime Organization’s planned carbon tax on shipping, the UN is pursuing its founding goal of growing into a true world government. As Americans wake up to the true nature of the UN and its affiliates, they and their state governments are pushing back.
