Freedom Reloaded: 9th Circuit Restores Ammunition Liberty to Californians
At long last, the iron curtain separating Californians from their Second Amendment-protected rights has begun to crack. In a rare — but absolutely correct — act of constitutional fidelity, a three-judge panel from the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that California’s draconian ammunition restrictions violate the Second Amendment.
For too long, residents of the Golden State have suffered under the boot of bureaucratic tyrants and their gun-hating henchmen in Sacramento. Californians have endured unconstitutional background checks for ammunition purchases, been forced to submit to “ammunition vendor” licensing schemes, and even been denied the basic right to purchase ammo online unless it’s routed through a government-approved middleman.
But now, thanks to this opinion, law-abiding citizens in California are finally being treated as citizens, not subjects. They no longer need to cross state lines to stock up on ammunition, nor must they surrender to an Orwellian database every time they want to exercise their God-given right to self-defense. They can once again purchase ammunition the way free men do in free states: cash-and-carry or online, no government interference required.
