AT A GLANCE

• Charlie Kirk will forever be remembered by decent, patriotic Americans as a hero and martyr for liberty and Christ.

• He saw the education battle as a biblical obligation.

• His voice and ideas are now being magnified beyond anything the world has seen in recent memory.

With the strike of an assassin’s bullet on a college campus in Utah on September 10, Charlie Kirk went from “right-wing activist” and “far-right youth organizer” to absolute legend. He will forever be remembered by decent, patriotic Americans as a hero and martyr for liberty and Christ — one of the most consequential Americans in history, one who went into the darkest places of America to confront the lies with truth and the hate with love.

But as the shock and horror fade into history and Charlie’s historical legacy is debated and shaped, Americans must never forget what this man truly stood for: “God, family, and country, in that order,” as Charlie was so fond of saying. The media is already seeking to tarnish his legacy and to make it all about partisan politics. But while Charlie was indeed political, his mission was far greater than politics.

The “main thing” for Charlie was the “Great Commission.” He was literally making disciples, using the Bible to teach young and old the truth on every issue. He was calling for obedience to God’s commands on everything from marriage, abortion, and sex to government and business. His command of Scripture was incredible, and he constantly cited biblical passages — chapter and verse — to support his position on almost any issue as he confronted legions of confused college students. And he was getting better and better as he matured.
