Will the brutal, unvarnished truth about the January 6 Capitol attack now finally be revealed? Will the past four years of nonstop hysterical headlines, media fright peddling, and Deep State conspiracy concerning that day finally be exposed? We have good reason to hope so since the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump on January 20. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) announced on January 22 the establishment of a select subcommittee for the 119th Congress to “continue House Republicans’ investigation into all events leading up to and after January 6.” He named Representative Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) to chair the new subcommittee, which will operate under the House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Representative Jim Jordan (R-Ohio).

Loudermilk, who headed up the Republicans’ J6 investigation as chairman of the House Subcommittee on Oversight during the 118th Congress, will now have more resources and a dedicated focus to “uncover the full truth that is owed to the American people.” As chairman, Loudermilk issued the earlier subcommittee’s 81-page “Initial Findings Report” in March of last year, and in December released a 128-page “Interim Report.” Among many other important findings, the Loudermilk-led investigation found that “numerous federal laws were likely broken” by then-Representative Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), the former vice chair of the January 6 Select Committee appointed by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), “and these violations should be investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.” A prime example cited in the report is Cheney’s alleged witness tampering regarding Cassidy Hutchinson, a ballyhooed “star witness” for the Democrats’ fake January 6 investigation. That’s a federal crime. Loudermilk’s report, no doubt, was a significant factor in the decision by Team Biden to issue blanket preemptive pardons not only for Cheney, but for the entire cast of the Pelosi-Cheney stage show.

In addition to the new J6 select committee under Loudermilk, there is, of course, the sea change at the Department of Justice and the FBI. Gone are not only Merrick Garland at DOJ and Christopher Wray at the FBI, but many of their fellow partners in crime who resigned ahead of incoming President Trump. Pam Bondi as the new attorney general and Kash Patel as the new FBI director will still have an enormous cleanup job (at the time this issue went to press, the two had not yet been confirmed). But if they learn from the errors of the first Trump administration and, this time around, thoroughly root out all of the Deep State lackeys, open the files, and encourage whistleblowers to reveal the dark secrets, we have an historic opportunity to take our government back.
