Former President Donald Trump has appealed the $355 million judgment in the New York fraud case, which has grown to more than $464 million with interest.
Trump’s lawyers allege in the appeal court documents that New York State Judge Arthur Engoron “committed errors of law and/or fact,” and abused his jurisdiction.
Trump lawyers stated the appeals courts will overturn Engoron’s ruling, with Alina Habba stating, “We trust that the Appellate Division will overturn this egregious fine and take the necessary steps to restore the public faith in New York’s legal system,” and Chris Kise stating that the appellate court “will ultimately correct the innumerable and catastrophic errors made by a trial court untethered to the law or to reality.”
New York Attorney General Letitia James has posted the updates on the amount owed, including more than $100,000 of daily interest, writing on X, “+$114,553.04 = $464,805,336.70”
