Following former President Donald Trump’s interview with Elon Musk Monday night, X announced the conversation received 73 million views, and stated that more than four million posts about the conversation generated 998 million views on X:
Between 7:47 PM and 10:47 PM ET, President Donald Trump’s Space post received 73 million views. During the same period, there were 4 million posts about Elon Musk and President Trump’s conversation on 𝕏, generating a total of 998 million views.
Shortly after X’s announcement, Musk responded by stating the conversation had surpassed 1 billion views:

Before the interview, X servers were targeted by a denial-of-service attack, causing the interview to be delayed by about 50 minutes. In response to the attack, Musk stated:
As this massive attack illustrates, theres a lot of opposition to people just hearing what President Trump has to say.
The interview lasted about two hours, with Musk starting by speaking to Trump about the July 13 assassination attempt. Musk praised Trump’s reaction to the attempt on his life, stating:
You can’t fake bravery under such circumstances, the courage is instinctual or it is not, it’s not a rehearsed action, and so I just want to say that I think a lot of people admire your courage under fire there.
Trump thanked Musk, and said he believed he was protected by an act of God, responding:
Thank you very much, I appreciate it. The incredible thing though when you talk about the odds, you had to be exactly at that angle and the bullet came wizzing by hitting my ear. When you think of the odds of that, I say an act of God, its a miracle that it happened and I’m honored by it.
During the interview, Trump alleged the Democratic party engaged in a soft coup, transferring power to Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump questioned the actions of Democrats after they successfully pressured President Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential election, stating:
Look, she hasn’t done an interview since this whole scam started, and say what you want, this was a coup. This was a coup of the president of the united states, he didn’t want to leave and they said “we can do it the nice way or we can do it the hard way.”
