Milei Visits Israel, Plans to Move Embassy to Jerusalem

Argentinian President Javier Milei arrived in Israel today after promising his first diplomatic visit would be to the Jewish state. Milei announced plans to move the Argentinian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Milei, saying on X, “I warmly welcome the arrival in Israel of the president of Argentina, friend of Israel Javier Milei, who announced the transfer of the Argentine embassy to Jerusalem. Welcome dear friend!”

In response to the announcement, Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated on X, “Thank you, Mr. President. @JMilei for his statement about the transfer of the Argentine embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, the Capital”

Milei visited the Western Wall in Jerusalem with Orthodox Rabbi Shimon Axel Wahnish, and was overcome with emotion during the visit to the holy site.
