The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says that more than 200 missiles and drones have been launched from Iran at targets in Israel. Iran says this latest attack is a response to an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, that killed seven Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) leaders.

U.S. officials have confirmed the Iranian attack, and believe 400-500 missiles and drones in total will be fired at Israel.

Israel’s Iron Dome air-defense system has already shot down many of the incoming Iranian drones and missiles, and Israeli, U.S., and U.K. aircraft are being used to intercept them as well.
