Grassley Investigates Gates, Rockefeller, Ford Foundations’ Funding Communist China and CCP Allies, Minions. (About Time!)
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is probing the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and the Ford Foundation to determine how the organizations are complying with applicable tax laws given their reported funding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its allies.
“According to recent reports, [your organizations], through grants and direct payments, have funded the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its allies,” Grassley stated in an October 28, 2025 press release that partially contained the text of his letters to each of the foundations. “To maintain tax exempt status, an organization’s activities must be charitable in nature and may not directly support or promote the interests of a foreign government.”
“I am writing today to ask you whether these reports are true or not and, if true, how your organization’s conduct comports with 501(c)(3) requirements,” Grassley continued. The press release then provided these condensed portions from his three letters:
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in 2023 reportedly directed approximately $11.7 million to various arms of the CCP, as well as $2 million to a corporation working with the Chinese military and $6.7 million to state-run Chinese universities. In fiscal year 2022, the nonprofit organization reportedly provided roughly $23 million to over 20 different Chinese entities, some of which were labeled “foreign governments.”
The Rockefeller Brothers Fund, from April 2020 to August 2024, reportedly donated $7.4 million to organizations that were part of the CCP, led by members of the CCP or engaged in partnerships with China. Specifically, the nonprofit partnered with the “Society of Entrepreneurs of Ecology Foundation,” which partnered with the CCP to assist the Belt and Road Initiative.
The Ford Foundation, from January 2020 to December 2024, reportedly provided nearly $10 million to the Chinese government to further the Belt and Road Initiative. Most of the Ford Foundation’s Chinese grant funding was reportedly given to state-run, or CCP-run, universities with strong ties to the People’s Liberation Army.

There is a difference this time around: Congressional efforts will have the backing of a president in the White House who supports, not thwarts, their efforts. On September 25, 2025, President Trump signed a National Security Presidential Memorandum (NSPM) establishing “a comprehensive strategy to investigate, disrupt, and dismantle all stages of organized political violence and domestic terrorism.” Among other things, it “directs the IRS Commissioner to ensure tax-exempt entities do not directly or indirectly finance political violence or domestic terrorism, referring violators to the Department of Justice.” President Trump has made many statements letting it be known that he understands that the big “philanthropy” foundations have been illegally funding the rent-a-mobs that are plaguing our nation.

Biotech bigshot Moderna brags that the latest version of its Covid mRNA vaccine is safer than ever. It bases the claim on a short-term trial that included fewer than one thousand participants.
“The mRNA-1273 vaccine continues to have an acceptable safety profile consistent with the product labeling,” announced the company’s director of clinical development, Susan Pfeiffer, at the 2025 Infectious Disease Week (IDWeek) conference held last week in Atlanta. She cited a study of 997 people aged 12 to 30 and said none of them experienced heart inflammation (i.e. myocarditis or pericarditis), adverse events which have become synonymous with both Moderna and Pfizer.
But then, she backpedaled. Three participants did evince elevated troponin levels — which indicate heart injury — after being jabbed. But Pfeiffer blamed those outcomes on the “physical activity” of the test subjects. Her product certainly was not to blame.
Did you notice her euphemistic tactic? “The mRNA-1273 vaccine continues to have an acceptable safety profile consistent with the product labeling.” (Emphasis added.)
The product labeling, updated just four months ago by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), must now reflect that “the observed risk of myocarditis and pericarditis following vaccination with mRNA COVID-19 vaccines has been highest in males 12 through 24 years of age.” The warning goes on to note the incidence of “27 cases per million doses” in that demographic within one week of getting vaxed. Even more alarming is the rather ambiguous note that heart injury is “common … 5 months post-vaccination.” No numbers are given to quantify the meaning of “common,” nor is any mention made of further follow-up.
In other words, Pfeiffer’s announcement could be restated as “not much has changed.” And as the Lioness of Judah Ministry pointed out on its Substack: “Moderna’s presentation also avoided mentioning any of the other red-flag issues that have fueled public skepticism — no data on blood clots, immune suppression, or the surge of turbo cancers increasingly reported since the rollout of the mRNA platform.”
How could it? The referenced study included fewer than two months of observation with no long-term follow-up or independent oversight. For that kind of research we can thank MIT Professor Retsef Levi and Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, who in April published results of their “Twelve-Month All Cause Mortality after Initial COVID-19 Vaccination” study. They found alarming rates of injury and death among those vaccinated with Pfizer and Moderna products. Let the boosted beware. — Rebecca Terrell
California Governor Candidates Debate November 8
The California governor’s race is heating up since current Democrat Gavin Newsom is term-limited out and former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris announced in August her intent not to run. So far, radical leftist Katie Porter leads the Democratic field, which includes former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra. Republican Steve Hilton holds GOP dibs and a narrow lead over Porter in recent polls.
Hilton is one of more than a dozen conservative hopefuls who will face off in a debate on November 8 in San Marcos. Attendees at the Take Your Power Back California Governor Showdown will be able to submit questions for the candidates after meeting them in person at a black-tie reception and dinner.
Independent journalist Lara Logan and election expert Dr. Douglas Frank are among the moderators, and General Michael Flynn will deliver a special address remotely. Those involved in planning the event told The New American that One America News and CNN are among the media outlets that plan to cover the debate.
Host Kim Yeater of the Take Your Power Back podcast will also livestream the event on her social-media channels.
“California is grappling with soaring crime, economic hardship and policies that burden families, farmers and all citizens, threatening our shared future and freedoms,” she states in a press release. “This transformative event will ignite a movement for California’s future.”
Hilton hopes to lead that movement. A native of Great Britain, he became a U.S. citizen in 2021 and is a former Fox News host. Republicans who will debate him include real-estate agent Jim Athans, South Korean native Ché Ahn, nuclear engineer Gretha Solorzano, Marine combat veteran David Serpa, former congressional candidate Daniel Mercuri, veteran police officer and podcaster Ryan Tillman, fifth-generation farmer David Collenberg, former farmer Leo Zacky, military veteran Leo Naranjo, and private business owner Coby J. Marcum.
Independent conservatives slated to participate include filmmaker and J6er Lewis Herms, and Scott Shields, a private entrepreneur.

Unlike other states that hold partisan primaries, California picks the top two winners of its preliminary election regardless of party, and pits them against each other in its general election, which will take place on November 3, 2026. China’s Subversive Plans for London Mega-Embassy Face More Delays, as Pro-CCP Starmer Faces Blowback
The United States isn’t the only Western country in Communist China’s sights. The U.K. is regarded with equal hostility by China’s communist rulers, in part because of the 19th-century Opium Wars, which China has neither forgiven nor forgotten, and in part because the U.K. has become a refuge for thousands of former Hong Kong residents fleeing CCP repression. China has been accused of extra-jurisdictional harassment of Hong Kong activists living in the U.K., extending to offering bounties to people willing to kidnap Hong Kongers wanted by the CCP and deliver them to the Chinese embassy. On at least one occasion already, Chinese embassy officials have grabbed a Hong Kong protestor outside the Manchester consulate in 2022 and dragged him onto embassy grounds, effectively kidnapping him.
Because of such activities, a Chinese proposal to build a new “mega-embassy” in London is meeting with stiff resistance. In 2018, the Chinese purchased the Royal Mint Court, a two-centuries-old building complex that once served as a mint, but was abandoned in 1975 when the U.K. ceased the production of gold coins. However, U.K. government approval for the new embassy has been delayed repeatedly. In 2022, the application to move the embassy was rejected by a local council, and was resubmitted in July 2024, two weeks after the Labour Party electoral victory, with Xi Jinping requesting that new prime minister Keir Starmer intervene personally to ensure approval of the move.
However, Starmer’s government has been beset by political setbacks, many of them stemming from the U.K.’s out-of-control immigration. Although the central government, in the person of Housing Secretary Angela Rayner, took control of the application process in August 2024, the project has become a political hot potato, with repeated delays; in the latest development, a final decision on the mega-embassy, which was to have been issued October 21, was put off indefinitely.
One sore spot has been the redaction, in the building plans submitted by the Chinese, of details of certain areas of the proposed complex, suggesting that they have something to hide. Another has been the deliberate periodic turning off of the water supply to the U.K. embassy in Beijing for hours at a time, in what is an obvious pressure tactic designed to get the British to acquiesce to the new embassy project. As Tory MP Iain Duncan Smith put it, “It is an appalling tactic and yet the UK Government seems prepared to give China this mega-embassy which everyone knows is a security risk. It is embarrassing for them. I call it ‘Project Kowtow.’”
Still another combustible issue is the case of the “two Chrises,” Christopher Cash and Christopher Barry, two men accused by the U.K. government of passing government secrets to a high-ranking Chinese official. The case was abruptly and inexplicably shut down by the Labour government as a result of key testimony against China by a civil servant being withdrawn.
Given the timeline of events since the rise to power of the new Labour government, it is difficult to escape the conclusion that the U.K.’s Left, as embodied by the Labour Party, is completely compromised by the Chinese Communist Party. That would hardly be surprising, given the traditional relationship between Labour leadership and the Fabian Socialists, the U.K.’s most powerful Leftist establishment organization; both Keir Starmer and London Mayor Sadiq Khan are members, as are many other prominent Labour politicians. — Steve Bonta
Liberty Advances in Argentina — for Now: Milei Victory Defies Deep State Predictions, Proves Importance of Election Integrity Reforms
In defiance of smug predictions in the legacy media of an electoral rout of Argentine President Javier Milei, the La Libertad Avanza party in last weekend’s congressional elections swept to an overwhelming victory nationwide, transforming the minority party into a force to be reckoned with in both houses of Argentina’s congress. In the chamber of deputies, La Libertad Avanza (“Liberty Advances”) won 64 of the 127 contested seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 13 of 24 Senate seats. Before the election, Milei’s party held just 37 seats in the lower house, and now it holds 101, while in the Senate, it went from a mere seven seats to 20. Overall, La Libertad Avanza won 41 percent of the popular vote, compared with only 32 percent for the Peronist opposition party, Fuerza Patria (“Country Strength”). Most of the electoral map nationwide went for Milei’s party, including almost every precinct in Buenos Aires province, as well as other key populous provinces such as Córdoba, Entre Ríos, Mendoza, and Salta. Even poor rural provinces such as Misiones and Jujuy favored La Libertad Avanza, and rapturous crowds celebrated the win across the length and breadth of the country.
Milei for his part promised in a victory speech to make Argentina the freest country in the world, to restore the prosperity and promise of a country that was once among the world’s wealthiest, and to make Argentina a place where children no longer have to move abroad to find work.
The most remarkable feature of the election involved the miraculous turnaround in Buenos Aires province, where only 50 days prior, the Peronists had won a resounding victory over Milei, triggering a collapse of the peso amid general concern internationally that Argentina would soon revert to its old ways. But last weekend, Buenos Aires province was a sea of purple (the color of La Libertad Avanza). What changed? In a word, electoral reform. During that crucial 50-day period, the province restored voting by single paper ballot, along with monitoring of polls, and, as if by magic, the electoral results changed completely. The moral of the story for the United States would appear to be: Absent electoral reform — such as restoring paper ballots and requiring voter ID — massive electoral fraud will continue to occur. Trump won in 2024 in spite of massive fraud (as witness the likely theft of senate seats in states such as Wisconsin and Michigan) — not because the fraud of 2020 had been done away with.
The international markets were ecstatic with the Argentine results, pushing Argentine government bonds to dizzying highs. Stocks and the peso also rebounded dramatically. For now, at least, it appears that Milei and his libertarian program have a new lease on political life. — Steve Bonta
Demonic “Artist” Marina Abramović Goes on Porn Tour; Hillary Clinton’s Odd Appearance at Abramović Award Ceremony
“Marina Abramović isn’t afraid to offend — her new four-hour Manchester show is no different.” That’s the title of a gushing and deceptive article in the Manchester Evening News celebrating Abramović’s “Balkan Erotic Epic” show running in Manchester, England, October 9-19, before going on a world tour. Typical of Abramović’s degenerate “art,” it is indeed designed to offend every sense of decency; that is her point. As such, we can’t even repeat the descriptions of the obscene offerings in her marathon porn show, which have been praised by the usual “intellectuals” and artsy media critics (see here, here, and here). Of particular interest is highly notable appearance of Hillary Clinton in Tokyo at an awards ceremony where Abramović was awarded what is known as the “Nobel Prize for the Arts.” Clinton’s appearance is highly notable in that she and Abramović, along with Clinton associates John and Tony Podesta, connect in a number of sordid ways, as we have reported. The recent Clinton-Abramović Tokyo connection is all the more notable in that it has been censored from the Deep State regime media and virtually scrubbed from the internet. “Nothing to see here,” we have been told since the Clinton-Podesta-Abramović “Spirit Cooking” scandal broke nearly a decade ago. All of those wild “conspiracy theories” have been debunked, say the regime media flaks.
However, the recent Clinton-Abramović tryst was revealed in an October 23, 2025 article in The Art Newspaper, which reported:
The artists Peter Doig and Marina Abramović were honoured at a star-studded ceremony in Tokyo yesterday, celebrating them as the recipients of this year’s Praemium Imperiale Awards, known as the “Nobel Prize for the Arts.”
At the ceremony, hosted by the Japan Arts Association and held in the 19th century Meiji Kinenkan hall, Princess Hitachi, a member of the Japanese imperial family, presented the laureates with gold medals. This year’s laureates, who were first named in July, are Doig (painting), Abramović (sculpture), Eduardo Souto de Moura (architecture), András Schiff (music), and Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker (theatre/film). As well as a medal, each received 15 million Yen (£77,000).
Attendees at the event included Praemium Imperiale’s international advisors: former US secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, Lord Patten of Barnes, the former governor of Hong Kong and ex-Italian prime minister Lamberto Dini.
What did Hillary have to say to the glittering assemblage? The Art Newspaper reported:
In her speech, Clinton quoted American playwright Robert Wilson, stating: “Artists are the diarists and journalists of the days in which we live. Politics and religion will always separate us but art has the possibility of bringing us together.”
She continued: “Today his words resonate even more deeply. We live in an age of noise and division. And we recognise art is not just for beauty or entertainment, but it serves a central role in our society and in the common human experience. It is a powerful vehicle for diverse ideas and expressions that inspire us, challenge us and heal us.”
Abramović and her adulators epitomize the weaponization of culture aimed at Christianity and Western Civilization by communists and their “liberal progressive” helpmates for the past century. The purpose, of course, is to completely undermine the moral fabric of society and cause its unraveling. German communist Willi Munzenberg, head of the Comintern (Communist International) under both Lenin and Stalin in the 1920s and 1930s, is reported to have infamously proclaimed that his purpose was to “organize the intellectuals and use them to make Western civilization stink. Only then, after they have corrupted all its values and made life impossible, can we impose the dictatorship of the proletariat.” Although the quote has been challenged, there is no question that Munzenberg and his ilk have indeed corrupted modern culture into a degenerate, stinking mess. This scheme was fleshed out in more detail in the 1940s and 1950s by Isaac Roman (better known by his pseudonym, V.J. Jerome), the Comintern’s cultural commissar for the Communist Party USA, in such communist publications as Grasp the Weapon of Culture! and Culture in a Changing World: A Marxist Approach. U.S. National Debt Hits $38 Trillion, Grows $1 Trillion in Just 72 Days
The furor over the federal-government shutdown has distracted from the larger picture of destructive out-of-control spending and debt — and this was demonstrated when the U.S national debt surpassed $38 trillion last week.
The Associated Press reports:
It’s … the fastest accumulation of a trillion dollars in debt outside of the COVID-19 pandemic — the U.S. hit $37 trillion in gross national debt in August this year.
The $38 trillion update is found in the latest Treasury Department report, which logs the nation’s daily finances….
The Government Accountability Office outlines some of the impacts of rising government debt on Americans — including higher borrowing costs for things like mortgages and cars, lower wages from businesses having less money available to invest, and more expensive goods and services….
The U.S. hit $34 trillion in debt in January 2024, $35 trillion in July 2024 and $36 trillion in November 2024.
Although the Left, mainstream media, and Establishment think tanks regularly blame supposedly insufficient taxation for America’s fiscal woes, the real culprit is ballooning spending intended to enable the ever-expanding federal government. According to the Treasury Department, federal spending in fiscal 2025 exceeded $7 trillion (compare that to President Barack Obama’s “record” $4 trillion budget proposal in 2015).
Although the sheer size and rapid growth of the national debt by themselves should concern Americans for their nation’s well-being, skyrocketing interest payments on the debt are exacerbating the federal government’s deteriorating fiscal situation.
Jon Miltimore of the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE) noted last year:
A new Bank of America analysis shows that interest payments on the national debt are set to explode in 2024 — rising much faster than the $870 billion annual increase that the Congressional Budget Office recently projected.
Even assuming the CBO’s more conservative projection, the picture is grim.
Analysts at the Peter G. Peterson Foundation estimate that the government will spend $12.4 trillion over the next decade just to service its debt. Financial analysts are flagging these surging interest payments, as well as the eye-popping amount of global debt.
“U.S. government spending rose by $162 billion in the last year just to cover interest on the nation’s debt,” Lauren Sanfilippo, an investment strategist for Merrill Lynch and Bank of America, observed in a video analyzing global debt, which stands at a record $307 trillion.
Unfortunately, the current government shutdown appears unlikely to make a big dent in the size and scope of government. For example, Politico reported that the Department of Health and Human Services rejected already-modest personnel cuts proposed by Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought.
The constitutional aspect of federal spending is often overlooked. It must be specifically authorized by Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution. All federal spending that falls outside Article I, Section 8 — including the vast majority of current spending — is unconstitutional.
The Founding Fathers warned against excessive government debt. Miltimore notes:
In 1797, a year after revolutionary France abolished paper money following a disastrous inflationary experiment, U.S. President John Adams delivered a warning on government debt.
“The consequences arising from the continual accumulation of public debts in other countries ought to admonish us to be careful to prevent their growth in our own,” Adams told Congress.
It’s a speech that lawmakers in Washington, D.C., would do well to read — and quickly.

Mario Draghi Pushes EU Federalism
Former Italian Prime Minister and prominent Eurocrat Mario Draghi is calling on the European Union to become a federal state.
Draghi, a Bilderberg Group member who served as president of the European Central Bank from 2011 to 2019 and Italian prime minister from 2021 to 2022, made these remarks on October 24 after receiving the appropriately titled Princess of Asturias Award for International Cooperation in Oviedo, Spain.
Politico reports:
To overcome the economic, social and security challenges facing the bloc, the EU urgently needs to reform itself and change its treaties, argued the former president of the European Central Bank and author of a landmark report on the EU’s competitiveness in 2024.
“A new pragmatic federalism is the only viable path,” Draghi stressed….
But this federalist leap would require national governments to give up their veto power, something that has historically drawn resistance from smaller EU member countries which fear being sidelined by their larger counterparts.
It’s not the first time Draghi has advocated for a more federal Europe. He made a similar push in 2022 while prime minister of Italy, calling on his EU colleagues to embrace “pragmatic federalism” and to put an end to national vetoes in order to speed up the bloc’s decision-making process.
Draghi’s call for European federalism is neither surprising nor unusual. Ursula von der Leyen, president of the European Commission, and other prominent EU officials, have previously advocated for a European federation.
As we’ve previously noted, the European Union — originally established in 1952 as an economic union called the European Coal and Steel Community — was originally intended from the start to eventually become a full-fledged federal state. The regional bloc’s recent centralization of power, consistent with the globalist strategy for achieving world government via regional governments, makes this goal readily apparent.
Instead of allowing the United States to become consumed by a similar regional union, Congress must boldly protect American independence by withdrawing it from all international organizations and trade agreements. — Peter Rykowski
MAHA: Monitoring Americans’ Health Attributes — or CCP-style Digital Control Grid?
This summer, President Donald Trump unveiled a sweeping plan to “bring healthcare into the digital age.” He calls it the “Digital Health Tech Ecosystem,” and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. also announced the launch of a digital health ID initiative in conjunction with Amazon, Apple, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic. The latter is an AI startup that received most of its $580 million seed funding from the now-bankrupt FTX under convicted fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried.
This “Ecosystem” is part of the artificial intelligence (AI) venture Stargate Project, which Trump excitedly announced on his first day in office. Stargate is the reason you may have noticed large AI facilities springing up across the country, driving up energy prices with their unprecedented demand for electricity, and threatening aquifers with their unprecedented demand for water.
Trump declared Texas-based Stargate to be a $500 billion collaboration between leading tech companies that will make the United States the global leader in AI. Among investors are OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Oracle chairman Larry Ellison. During the White House unveiling, Ellison bragged that Stargate’s AI would be able to produce cancer vaccines in 48 hours.
Microsoft and NVIDIA are two other U.S.-based investors, while Emirati state-owned MGX of Abu Dhabi and U.K.-based Arm Holdings, Inc. are also involved. Stargate’s chairman is Japanese billionaire Masayoshi Son, who also chairs Stargate investor SoftBank.
Naturally, the healthcare component of this technological boom is supposed to help the little guy: improving patient care through earlier disease detection and — you guessed it — vaccinations. But are we to believe that this international consortium of businesses has our best interests at heart?
For that matter, do our own politicians? During testimony before Congress earlier this year, Kennedy admitted: “My vision is that every American is wearing a wearable [health-related monitor] within four years.” But he dodged a follow-up question about plans to secure that personal health data.
That’s disconcerting, considering the vulnerability of personal information in federal hands. Remember the early 2025 reveal that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency gained illicit access to 19 sensitive U.S. Health and Human Services databases, exposing everything from electronic health records to Social Security and bank details?
The “wearable” health monitors would expand that data collection astronomically, creating a “digital twin” of yourself as government officials harvest vital signs, movement and sleep patterns, and other physical metrics in real time.
Moreover, Trump signed an executive order in March calling for data-sharing of personal information about Americans across federal agencies. His administration has since awarded more than $900 million in contracts to Peter Thiel’s data analytics company, Palantir, while even current and former employees have petitioned the company to pull out of the plans.

Starting in 2020, U.S. hospitals implemented “body area networks” (BAN) to deliver real-time vitals to the Pentagon’s Project Salus during the Covid “public health emergency.”
This helps explain why U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem finally enforced the REAL ID Act of 2005 this year. (Right now, it’s mandatory for domestic air travel and entering federal buildings, but the legislation allows for unlimited expansion of REAL ID requirements.) Until this year, various states stymied REAL ID; they correctly labeled it as a gross violation of Americans’ constitutionally protected rights. Now, the U.S. Transportation Security Administration boasts on its website about its biometric overhaul.
Indeed, the REAL ID Act allows states to collect biometric data (fingerprints, facial geometry, triangulated body measurements) on each of us. The Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF) explains that the “purposes could include banking, employment or health care.”
CCHF warns: “REAL ID provides the digital and biometric infrastructure to implement a China-like control grid, where your access to services could depend on behavior, beliefs or health status.”
Such systems have been in the works for decades. Former President Barack Obama talked of building an “identity ecosystem” in cyberspace. And Bill Gates unveiled plans in late 2023 for a “digital public infrastructure” — including a programmable “central bank digital currency” — in UN member states to be operational within five years. The World Health Organization and the World Economic Forum are also pushing for these digital identification systems for a global control framework. It looks as though MAGA Trump and MAHA Kennedy are helping to bring these dreams to reality. — Rebecca Terrell
White House Drops Deep State Nominee Joel Rayburn
Earlier this week, the White House withdrew Joel Rayburn’s nomination to serve as assistant secretary of state for Near Eastern affairs, overseeing Middle East policy. The withdrawal comes after Rayburn’s nomination advanced through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on a bipartisan 15-7 vote last week.
Rayburn, a retired Army officer, served as a special envoy for Syria during the first Trump administration, where he worked under James Jeffrey, a special representative for Syria engagement. Rayburn’s nomination stalled due to scrutiny over his association with Jeffrey, a “never Trumper” who openly bragged in a 2020 Defense One interview that, “We were always playing shell games to not make clear to our leadership how many troops we had there.” Defying President Trump’s order to withdraw from Syria, Jeffrey and others intentionally misled Trump administration leaders about the number of U.S. military personnel in Syria.
Leading the opposition to the nomination was Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who questioned Rayburn during the hearing, raising concerns about Rayburn’s association with Jeffrey and whether he could be trusted to follow orders. As Jeffrey’s actions directly defied President Trump’s explicit commands, Paul stating during the hearing, “I think what James Jeffrey did was tantamount to treason, basically.” After receiving notice of the nomination’s withdrawal, Paul reiterated his doubts, stating, “I had my doubts whether he would actually obey orders.”
Doubts regarding Rayburn’s and Jeffrey’s loyalty are warranted, given that both are members of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), a globalist-minded organization with a history of exerting influence on presidential administrations. Unelected officials such as Jeffrey and Rayburn, who ostensibly served under President Trump, undermined Article II of the Constitution, which vests military command in the president. As Americans continue to reject endless foreign wars, Rayburn’s nomination being withdrawn is a small victory over the Deep State’s grip on U.S. foreign policy, and one step closer to draining the globalist swamp. — David DeRidder
