Obama, Brennan, Clapper, Comey: DNI Tulsi Gabbard Says Newly Released Documents Show “Treason”
Everyone except the most obtuse dullard or the most incorrigible “progressive” has known that the “Trump-Russia collusion” hoax was a gigantic operation by the Deep State cabal to first cripple Donald Trump and then oust him from the White House during his first term. With the indispensable aid of the controlled Fake News media, the cabal succeeded in hamstringing the Trump administration with lies, leaks, lawsuits, defamation, impeachment, prosecutions, and more. We have detailed the evidence of this conspiracy in many articles in The New American. Over the past week, a trove of newly released declassified documents has confirmed what we already knew, as well as confirming many of our darkest suspicions. The releases came from Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard; Senator Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee; and Representative Eric Crawford (R-Ark.), chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
In press conferences and interviews, DNI Gabbard accused former president Barack Obama and his national security team of leading a “treasonous conspiracy” that was “essentially a years-long coup against the duly elected President of the United States, subverting the will of the American people and attempting to delegitimize Donald Trump’s presidency.” Obama’s coconspirators included DNI James Clapper, CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey, and others. All are now under investigation by the FBI and DOJ.
The initial core of the conspiracy was the fabrication of a phony Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) that would falsely claim that Russia (i.e., Putin) used its intelligence capabilities to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election in favor of Donald Trump. Not only was that a lie, but Clapper, Brennan, and Comey further deceived Congress and the American public in claiming that the bogus ICA represented the consensus of all 17 agencies of the U.S. intelligence community. Biden, the Democrats, the Never-Trump RINOs, and the leftist media choir all repeated endlessly that “all 17 agencies of the intelligence community” had “unanimously” agreed that Putin wanted Donald Trump elected, not Hillary Clinton.
As we reported last year, the phony ICA (ordered by Obama, carried out by Clapper-Brennan-Comey) was a rancid deception from start to finish:
For starters, the “17 intelligence agencies” claim was a lie. Five months later, when Clapper testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee on May 8, 2017, he admitted that it was only four, not all 17 agencies of the Intelligence Community (IC) that participated in the ICA. Moreover, he confirmed that only a couple dozen “hand-picked” analysts from the CIA, NSA, FBI, and his own Office of the Director National Intelligence (ODNI) participated in the ICA. And who hand-picked the participants? Well, Clapper, Brennan, and former FBI Director James Comey, another paragon of prevarication. And, as it turns out, that “hand-picked” selection process was just one of several key protocols violated by the Clapper-Brennan-Comey triumvirate in their rush to produce a fake Intelligence Community Assessment that would whitewash Biden and tarbrush Trump. Additionally, in contravention of standard ICA procedures, it was not reviewed by the other intelligence agencies, did not include dissenting opinions, and relied on the salacious, discredited “Steele dossier” that had been funded by Trump’s opponent (Hillary Clinton) using Russian operatives Igor Danchenko and Olga Galkina.
The recently released documents show that the criminal skullduggery of Team Obama in concocting the Trump-Russia hoax was far more extensive and more serious than previously known.
On July 21, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) announced the release of the long-hidden “Clinton Annex” to the 2018 DOJ Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) findings that the FBI (under Comey) failed to fully investigate Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server and mishandling of highly classified information during her time as secretary of state. Grassley had been requesting this classified document for seven years. Under Attorney General Pam Bondi it was finally declassified. The 35-page “Clinton Annex” can be downloaded here.
On July 23, House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Rick Crawford announced the release of a 46-page HPSCI report on the bogus ICA fabricated by the Obama-Clapper-Brennan-Comey cabal to tar Donald Trump with the “Russia, Russia, Russia” scam. Like many other documents, the HPSCI report had been classified to keep it bottled up since 2017.
“This report is the final nail in the coffin of the Russia hoax, which has perpetrated the greatest political fraud on the American people for over 8 years and undermined President Trump’s first term in office,” Chairman Crawford said. “This HPSCI staff report, for the first time, exposes in-depth details on how the Intelligence Community manufactured the Russia collusion hoax.” — William F. The United States Has Withdrawn From UNESCO. Again.
On July 22, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce released a statement signaling the Trump administration’s intent to withdraw from the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), effective on the last day of 2026. According to the statement:
Today, the United States informed Director-General Audrey Azoulay of the United States’ decision to withdraw from UNESCO. Continued involvement in UNESCO is not in the national interest of the United States.
UNESCO works to advance divisive social and cultural causes and maintains an outsized focus on the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, a globalist, ideological agenda for international development at odds with our America First foreign policy. UNESCO’s decision to admit the “State of Palestine” as a Member State is highly problematic, contrary to U.S. policy, and contributed to the proliferation of anti-Israel rhetoric within the organization.
Continued U.S. participation in international organizations will focus on advancing American interests with clarity and conviction.
Except for the commitment to continue participating in unnamed international organizations for “advancing American interests,” this latest Trump withdrawal from a globalist Chinese finger trap — following our withdrawal from the Paris Accord, the World Health Organization, and the UN Human Rights Council earlier this year — is certainly commendable.
In fact, it’s the third time that the United States has withdrawn from UNESCO, an organization it helped to found in 1945. President Reagan withdrew from the organization in 1984, only for George W. Bush to rejoin in 2003. President Trump withdrew again in 2018, but his illegitimate successor, Joe Biden, rejoined in 2023, even committing the United States to pay $600 million in back dues accrued during the five years it was not a member!
UNESCO is best known for funding “World Heritage Sites,” including 26 in the United States, among them cultural sites such as the Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site (Illinois), Mesa Verde National Park (Colorado), Monticello, along with the entire University of Virginia, as well as a slew of national parks, including Carlsbad Caverns, Everglades, Mammoth Cave, Yellowstone, and Yosemite.
While the preservation of cultural and natural wonders worldwide is a laudable aim, the globalist policy slant of UNESCO, including a fixation on sustainable development and the notion that America’s treasures “belong to the world,” are not. The Trump administration has recently ushered in a new “America First” approach to our National Park System, with a little-noticed executive order on July 3 bringing American fee structures for national parks in alignment with what most of the rest of the world does — namely, raising park fees for non-U.S. citizens. As the directive correctly noted:
Charging higher entrance fees to foreign tourists is a common policy at national parks throughout the world that supports both conservation and affordable access for residents….
Increasing fees for foreign visitors will also ensure fairness. American citizens fund national parks and public lands with their tax dollars, yet they are currently charged the same rate as foreign visitors who do not pay taxes, meaning that American citizens pay more to see their own national treasures than foreign visitors do. President Trump is ending this unfair situation and putting Americans first.
All of this, of course, is anathema to globalists, who view the United States and everything in it as an international entitlement.
But withdrawal from UNESCO won’t be enough, in the long run. It’s clear that, for all the “America First” talk, there is still reluctance to fully withdraw the United States from the United Nations and all of its multilateral affiliates. This is because of lingering imperial hubris to the effect that America can only advance its own interests if it has a “seat at the table” in organizations such as the UN. As long as this erroneous posture remains in force, the United States will remain one presidential cycle away from being sucked back into the entire globalist system. This happened the moment Biden and the Democrats took power in 2021, with all of Trump’s withdrawals summarily reversed. Trump Concludes HUGE Trade and Investment Agreement With Japan
“With over $550 billion in a new Japanese/USA investment vehicle and enhanced access for American exports, this agreement marks a new chapter in bilateral cooperation — one that will unleash the full potential of the U.S. economy, strengthen vital supply chains, and support American workers, communities, and businesses for decades to come.” So declares the White House fact sheet issued on July 23. The fact sheet continues:
At President Trump’s direction, these funds will be targeted toward the revitalization of America’s strategic industrial base, including:
Energy infrastructure and production, including LNG, advanced fuels, and grid modernization;
Semiconductor manufacturing and research, rebuilding U.S. capacity from design to fabrication;
Critical minerals mining, processing, and refining, ensuring access to essential inputs;
Pharmaceutical and medical production, ending U.S. dependence on foreign-made medicines and supplies;
Commercial and defense shipbuilding, including new yards and modernization of existing facilities.
In a July 22 post on Truth Social, President Trump said: “This Deal will create Hundreds of Thousands of Jobs — There has never been anything like it. Perhaps most importantly, Japan will open their Country to Trade including Cars and Trucks, Rice and certain other Agricultural Products, and other things. In Other Trade/Tariff News: EU, Mexico, China
The threat of an across-the-board 30-percent tariff undoubtedly provided impetus for Japan’s negotiators to capitulate to the Trump trade agenda, as well as for the flurry of continuing negotiating activity by multiple countries anxious to avoid the 30-percent tariff that will befall those who fail to conclude a deal before the fast-approaching Trump-imposed August 1 deadline. “We’ll have a straight, simple tariff of anywhere between 15 percent and 50 percent,” the president said at an AI summit in Washington, D.C., on July 23. “We have 50 because we haven’t been getting along with those countries too well.”
On July 7 President Trump revealed that he had sent letters to the leaders of 14 countries announcing the new steep tariff rates they would face. The countries were Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, South Africa, Laos, Myanmar, Tunisia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Serbia, Cambodia, and Thailand.
In his “Liberation Day” announcement on tariffs in April, Trump had set the baseline of 10 percent for all U.S. trading partners. However, as negotiations have continued and deals have been cut, that baseline has been boosted upward to 15 percent. Brazil, currently ruled by radical socialist President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will be hit with the 50-percent rate. Trade negotiators for the EU, after months of defiance, are reported to be close to concluding a deal with Washington. Mexico and Canada are still holding out. Trump has threatened to hike tariffs on Canada to 35 percent and on Mexico to 30 percent on August 1.
In May, the U.S. and China agreed to a 90-day suspension of heavy tariffs on each other’s goods while continuing negotiations. That suspension period is set to expire on August 12, but, according to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, that deadline may be extended if negotiations are making progress. — William F. Jasper
Massie Wants Epstein Files Released and Incurs the Wrath of the GOP Establishment
The House Republican leadership does not want to allow a vote to require the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. But the American people overwhelmingly want the files released. And so does Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), who is so strongly committed to doing so that he began circulating a discharge petition that would force a vote if signed by a majority of his House colleagues. And since it appears Massie will be able to collect the necessary number of signatures, the House leadership decided (guess what!) to adjourn a day early (on Wednesday) for its August recess.
But why not let the House vote on the release of the Epstein files? House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) told reporters, “The president has said clearly, and he has now ordered his DOJ to do what it is we’ve all needed DOJ to do for years now, and that is to get everything released. So they’re in the process of that. There’s no purpose for Congress to push an administration to do something that they’re already doing. And so this is for political games.”
Of course, if that assessment were accurate, then a House vote would reinforce, not subvert, the administration’s efforts.
Moreover, President Trump has been very clear that he wants to forget about Epstein. In fact, he has even attacked his supporters for believing otherwise, writing on Truth Social on July 16: “Their [the Democrats’] new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this ‘bull[****],’ hook, line, and sinker. They haven’t learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years.”
Back to Johnson’s remarks to reporters. Regarding Massie’s discharge petition, Johnson lamented, “Some people seem to enjoy trying to inflict political pain on their own teammates…. There’s a small, small, tiny handful, but one in particular who’s given me lots of consternation. I don’t understand Thomas Massie’s motivation. I really don’t.” Johnson even claimed, “It’s interesting to me that he chose the election of President Trump to bring this, to team up with the Democrats and bring this discharge petition.”
Trump has also been railing against Massie, saying in a Truth Social post on July 21: “Thomas Massie, the worst Republican Congressman, and an almost guaranteed NO VOTE each and every time, is an Embarrassment to Kentucky. He’s lazy, slow moving, and totally disingenuous — A real loser! Never has anything positive to add. Looking for someone good to run against this guy, someone I can Endorse and vigorously campaign for!”
In truth, Massie is the best member of Congress according to our “Freedom Index,” which rates all members based on their adherence to the Constitution.
He also has been consistent in wanting to get the Epstein files released, Speaker Johnson’s claim to the contrary notwithstanding. On February 10, 2024, when Biden was president, Massie posted on X: “I demand the release of Epstein’s client list!” — Gary Benoit
National Archives Releases MLK Assassination Documents
On July 21, the National Archives released a huge trove of documents related to the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr. This was done in compliance with an executive order that President Trump issued on January 23 of this year. The July 21 release, which includes 6,301 PDF files (and one MP3 audio file) totaling 243,496 pages, is accessible here.
MLK is widely viewed today as a saint-like figure. But that was far from the case prior to his assassination on April 4, 1968 in Memphis. When he was alive, he was highly controversial and was much more radical than most people realize today. The assassination made King a martyr, and today’s hallowed image of him is totally at odds with the real MLK.

U.S. Rejects WHO’s International Health Regulation Amendments
The World Health Organization (WHO) had set July 19 as the deadline for nations to opt out of the organization’s International Health Regulation (IHR) amendments that threaten to subject domestic health policies to the dictates of international bureaucrats. It appeared that the Trump administration was going to miss the deadline, thus setting us up for troubles when a new United Nations-friendly administration takes over. On July 18, hours before the deadline, a joint statement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced the United States’ rejection of the amendments. The Rubio-Kennedy statement declared:
In 2024, the World Health Assembly (WHA) adopted amendments to the International Health Regulations that significantly expanded the World Health Organization’s (WHO) authority over international public health responses. Developed without adequate public input, these amendments expand the role of the WHO in public health emergencies, create additional authorities for the WHO for shaping pandemic declarations, and promote WHO’s ability to facilitate “equitable access” of health commodities. These amendments have undue influence on our domestic health responses from WHO directives. They also fail to adequately address the WHO’s susceptibility to the political influence and censorship — most notably from China — during outbreaks. These amendments were set to become binding on the United States regardless of our withdrawal from the WHO.
“These amendments risk unwarranted interference with our national sovereign right to make health policy,” the statement continued. “We are proud to have worked jointly to ensure public health policy continues to be dictated by the values and will of the American people, not unelected global actors.”
All well and good, but as with our withdrawal from UNESCO (reported above), this IHR rejection is only a temporary fix that the next administration can quickly reverse. The only real solution is to Get US Out of the United Nations. — William F. Jasper
