Alex Newman from RIO+20: Interviewing Socialist International Women (Video)

In this roving interview on June 20, Alex Newman caught up with two leaders of the Socialist International Women, Gro Harlem Brundtland and Mary Robinson, at the UN’s Rio+20 conference. The Socialist International Women is a branch of the Socialist International, the very influential worldwide organization of socialist, communist, and “former communist” parties.

Gro Harlem Brundtland is a former Prime Minister of Norway, former chair of the World Commission on Environment and Development, and former head of the World Health Organization (WHO). She now serves as a Special Envoy on Climate Change for the United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. For many years, Dr. Brundtland was a vice president of the Socialist International.

Mary Robinson is a former President of Ireland, former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, former member of the Trilateral Commission, and currently serves as chair of the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED).

The IIED, a major think tank/lobby for expanded UN authority, is funded, principally, by the governments of the European Union and the major tax-exempt foundations, such as Ford and the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation. Robinson has used all of her powerful posts to push for more widespread legalization of abortion, expansion of homosexual “rights,” and socialism.

The Socialist International held a special meeting of its member parties at Rio+20 on the eve before the start of the conference.
